James 1:17
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
As the Christmas Season begins, gift giving is at the center of so many of or thoughts. We think of who we want to bless with something special. We may even make a list (check it twice, now!) It can be so hard figuring out what these people might like, need, or appreciate. But there is one who, when He blesses you, He knows exactly what you like, what you need, and what you will appreciate. Our Heavenly Father always provides us, in whatever situation we may be in, with a good and perfect blessing for that moment or that situation. And James reminds us that God is the God of all things residing in the heavens and that He comes down from the heavens in His awesome blessings. And, as a reminder, James tells us that when the Lord says “Yes!” He means yes and when the Lord says “No!” He means no. God is not wishy washy in His thinking and will not change His mind back and forth. When the Lord decides to bless someone, He does it. If only us humans could be so solid in our ways!!
Lord, Yes, sometimes my life can be a little troubling or difficult. But this is from my own doing. You are always there to provide me with what I need to get through each day. You always know what is best for me. Please, help me to carry Your attitude and ways with me and all year long be a provider of blessings to whomever crosses my path. Thank You Lord! In Jesus name, Amen!!
