Deuteronomy 1:13
Choose wise, understanding, and knowledgeable men from among your tribes, and I will make them heads over you.’
Today is November 7, 2023. For most people around the United States that means it is voting day! The General Election is here. What does the Lord say about the process of electing officers? He tells us to choose wise, understanding, and knowledgeable people. First, they should be wise. Look for candidates with Godly wisdom. You can see how they act in public to see if they have the Lord’s wisdom. Second, they should be understanding. They should have an understanding of what the people need and have an understanding as to how they can better the lives of their constituents. Third, they should be knowledgeable candidates. Someone wearing the best clothes and having the whitest and most sparkling teeth is not what you should be basing your decision on. They should have some working knowledge of what the job will require. The Lord also tells us to pick our leaders from our own people. Our own people will know us best and will have our best interests at heart. And finally, the Lord then makes them heads or leaders over us. Pray for the Lord’s wisdom on voting. Research the candidates and don’t go by their wide smile alone. Now, you know what to do. If you want leaders that follow the Lord it is up to us to vote them into office. The candidates that best represent Lord Jesus and His direction and commandments should get the vote of every Christian.
Lord, it is obvious how much the world is rejecting You. Our country needs leaders that are truly Christian and know they report directly to You. Leaders that will make laws based on Biblical doctrine. Place the names of Christian candidates on the heart of every voter that casts a vote in this election. We pray Your leaders will be put into office. Thank You Lord! In Jesus name, Amen!!
