Prayer Guide and Devotional – October 15, 2023
Matthew 9:6-7
But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins”—then He said to the paralytic, “Arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.” And he arose and departed to his house.
This is a wonderful passage describing when Jesus met a paralytic. Who knows how long this man had been a paralytic. It could have been years. The amazing thing you do not see in this miracle is about when the man got up and walked. There is no mention of him stumbling around, learning to balance himself, or even of weak leg muscles. I spent several weeks in a hospital bed once. After that short time my leg muscles started to weaken and my balance was wavering. Jesus miracles are so thorough that this man had no problems with his balance, his muscles, or his coordination. Jesus addressed every detail needed to make this man perfectly able to walk. Jesus always does that. He addresses the problem completely and does not miss a single needed detail. He does that in our lives also. You have a need, go to prayer and talk to Jesus about it. He already knows all the details and He will address the situation completely. It would be like when a car gets hit by another in a parking lot. It does not look bad. Then you find out from the mechanic that there were several delicate parts behind that fender or door that were damaged and need replacing as well. Unknown little things damaged that affects the performance of the car. He did so with the man who could not walk. He will do so for you as well. Jesus knows every detail of your problems and is waiting for you to place your faith in Him!!
Lord, You know me completely, inside and out. You know things about me I do not know myself. I ask you Lord to address the little details that affect my walk with You. I do not want my relationship with you to be like the paralytic stuck in bed but like the paralytic walking and running and jumping after being touched by Your love!!
