Prayer Guide and Devotional – October 6, 2023

1 Corinthians 15:58
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
One fisherman remains regardless of the storm that is going on all around! When the wind and rain and darkness came on all the others fishing from the pier left. We saw the other people who were fishing leave the pier in mass. A gentleman fell and the masses kept moving. When the storms pick up in your service to the Lord, do you go with the crowd to escape the storm or do you stay steadfast and immovable in your service to the Lord? When you run instead of stand, oftentimes that is when you stumble and fall. Jesus wants us to be like the man in the picture, steadfast and immovable, even when the storm is raging around us. Also notice the man was prepared, he had his rain gear on, he knew the storm was coming and did not sit idly waiting for someone else to get him ready. He was prepared and committed to his task. This is the way we need to be in our commitment to the Lord Jesus. We are responsible to be ready and to be steadfast. When you do this, know that your labor is not in vain and that all you do will abound.
Lord, I thank you that you give me the tools needed to remain steadfast and immovable regardless of the storm that is raging. Help me to remember that You are there keeping me! Lord, help me not to only prepare myself, but others as well for the storms ahead.
