Fellowship of Christian Farmers International (FCFI) is pleased to welcome Dr. David Headley as our featured guest speaker, who recently agreed to volunteer as our International Expansion Coordinator.
With more than 25 years of experience in international agricultural marketing and development, Dr. Headley has dedicated much of his career to strengthening agricultural value chains and improving the livelihoods of smallholder farmers throughout Africa. His work has focused on expanding market access, improving supply chains, enhancing livestock production, and building sustainable agribusinesses that create lasting economic opportunities for farming communities.
Throughout his career, Dr. Headley has worked in more than 83 countries, partnering with farmers, cooperatives, businesses, governments, and nonprofit organizations to develop practical agricultural solutions that improve food security and strengthen rural economies. His expertise includes value chain analysis, market assessments, agricultural trade, livestock development, and helping farmers connect to profitable local and international markets.
More importantly, Dr. Headley views agriculture as a powerful platform for Christian ministry. He believes that meeting physical needs often creates opportunities to share the hope of Jesus Christ. Drawing from Christ’s example of first caring for people’s practical needs before teaching spiritual truths, Dr. Headley has sought to serve communities by improving livelihoods, strengthening agricultural systems, and addressing food insecurity while building relationships that open doors for sharing the Gospel.
He has also identified several key challenges that often limit long-term agricultural success in developing communities, including limited access to education and technical training, quality agricultural inputs, affordable financing, and reliable markets. Through collaborative partnerships and practical solutions, he works to help farming communities become more productive, self-sustaining, and economically resilient.
Dr. Headley holds a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from North Carolina State University, an MBA in International Business from the University of Illinois, a Graduate Certificate in Monitoring and Evaluation from Duke University, and a Doctor of Business Administration in Management from Indiana Wesleyan University. He is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, and a published author who regularly contributes to agricultural trade publications.
Don’t miss this inspiring Zoom Fellowship and Prayer Meeting on Saturday, August 1, as Dr. Headley shares how agriculture can be used not only to strengthen rural communities but also to advance the Gospel and transform lives throughout Africa. His unique perspective on integrating faith, farming, and sustainable development promises to encourage everyone with a heart for missions, agriculture, and Christian outreach. We look forward to seeing you then!
