Kathy and Bill Brown
It’s been a very busy summer so far, and we’re excited to bring you up to date on all that God has been doing through the Fellowship of Christian Farmers International (FCFI).
Walking Stick Workdays
From July 8–10, we held our annual Walking Stick Workdays at Pilgrim Holiness Church in Marcy, NY. Each day, as many as 70 faithful volunteers gathered to prepare walking sticks and ministry materials for upcoming events. Over the course of three days, our teams accomplished an incredible amount of work:
- 22,000 walking sticks prepared
- 30,000 stick cards punched
- 15,000 cords with beads attached
- 5,000 bracelets made
We were blessed not only by the sheer number of volunteers but also by their dedication and joyful service. Some even traveled from Canada and several other states to be part of the effort.
Among our youngest workers was 11-year-old John, grandson of Pastor Rob and Sue Andreas, who faithfully operated the drill press every day. Other volunteers worked on equipment and prepared beads, cords, and bracelets—each contribution helping bring the Gospel message to countless people. Truly, it was a picture of the body of Christ working together in unity and love.

Faithful volunteers hard at work! On the left: John, our youngest helper at just 11 years old, running the drill press. In the middle: workers operating equipment. On the right: a group preparing beads, cords, and bracelets. We are grateful for friends who traveled from Canada and other states to join us!
Evangelistic Update
Alongside this preparation, our outreach teams have been busy sharing the Gospel at events across the Northeast. In Vermont, Kevin and Anne Fleming led efforts to bring the Good News to their communities. In Connecticut, Pastor Mitch Santelli and Roy Norman organized and led several impactful events.
Here in New York, the Gospel was shared at gatherings in Owego, Brookfield, Lockport, Eden, and Canandaigua. Through these combined efforts, over 3,000 people have heard the Gospel message in just the past couple of months. Many more will hear “the bead story” in the weeks to come at upcoming events, including:
- Woodsmen Field Days in Boonville
- Cream Cheese Festival in Lowville
- 150th Church Celebration in Edmeston, NY
- Barn Festival in Remsen, NY
- Plus additional events scheduled in Vermont and Connecticut
Looking Ahead
In September, a team of 20 volunteers will head to Spruce Pine, North Carolina, for a disaster relief mission trip. Please keep this mission in your prayers—for safe travels, protection as we work, and opportunities to share God’s love in both word and deed.
As Rev. Joakim Lundqvist of Sweden once said:
“Evangelism is all about planting a seed that will come alive on the day Jesus Christ knocks on the heart.”
We are grateful for your continued prayers, encouragement, and support. Together, we are seeing God’s Kingdom grow as seeds of the Gospel are planted across communities near and far.
