News from FCFI Region 8: Summer 2024 highlights

The Summer of 2024 was a remarkable season of service for the Fellowship of Christian Farmers International (FCFI) in the East. With a presence across New England, New York, Ohio, and a mission trip to Kentucky, FCFI volunteers brought the Good News to thousands of people. Reports from workers confirm that hearts were touched, and lives were changed through their outreach efforts.

In mid-September, volunteers distributed 2,500 sticks, tracts, beads, and cords for upcoming events in Connecticut. In Albany, New York, dedicated FCFI member Tom DePalma collected more supplies, which will be used to reach over 1,000 people at local farmers’ markets by the end of the year. As Tim Crouch famously stated, “There’s not an empty or unplowed field in all the world today that God doesn’t intend for harvest,” highlighting the importance of continuing this outreach work.

One of the key events this summer was the Walking Stick Workdays, held at Pilgrim Holiness Church in July. Thanks to the efforts of numerous volunteers, over 30,000 walking sticks were prepared for distribution throughout the Northeast.

In another significant effort, 18 volunteers from Florida, Indiana, Pennsylvania, and New York traveled to Mayfield, Kentucky, in September. Their mission was to assist in rebuilding homes for families affected by the devastating EF4 tornado that hit the area in 2021, claiming 26 lives and destroying much of the city. With the support of The Fuller Foundation, the team installed floors, porch railings, cabinets, and more. While the work is still ongoing, the collective spirit of service brought hope and healing to those affected.

As the year continues, FCFI remains committed to serving communities in need. Upcoming events include participation in the Sunbelt Ag Expo in Georgia and several shows in Florida. The organization’s mission is powered by the prayers and support of its faithful community, making it possible to continue sharing the love of God and impacting lives across the country.

This summer’s efforts have demonstrated the power of service and the profound impact of sharing the Gospel in practical ways. FCFI is grateful for the unwavering support of its volunteers and partners, ensuring that the work of the harvest continues.
