National FFA Convention – Indianapolis, IN

FCFI Executive Director Dennis Schlagel chats with “the locals,” some FFA students from Normal, Illinois.

The FFA Convention of 2017 took place in the Indianapolis Convention Center, where over 55,000 FFA members from all over the United States descended on Indianapolis to fellowship, learn about ag opportunities and careers, and enjoy each other’s company. The Fellowship of Christian Farmers was on hand to provide rest and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the students.

Mike Brehm makes a point with two FFA students from Florida

As always, many students are hearing the Gospel presented for the first time. The FFA Convention is a great place to witness for Christ, as young people are hungry for the Truth.

Area Leader Jeff Goss prays with FFA students. Jeff also leads at the Western Farm Show in Kansas City, where many FFA students attend.

Each FFA state chapter sets up a booth and give out information on agriculture in their particular state, some in the form of q & a games. There are usually samples of cheese, beef sticks, and other locally produced foods. It is always interesting to see how these young future farmers engage the public and share their knowledge on agriculture.

Terry Morrison shares the Gospel with a couple of young ladies from Wyoming.

Dennis Schlagel gets a chance to visit with a representative from Samaritan’s Purse, a leader in disaster relief.

FFA members make new friends at these conventions, and new business contacts. They may only be in high school, but these FFA members are among the brightest and best hope for the future of farming in America. Several asked Executive Director Dennis Schlagel what they could do to help the Fellowship. We are always interested in signing up new members and disaster relief volunteers!!
