The Fellowship of Christian Farmers, International is assisting the Spanish American Mission, delivering a second semi load of astroturf to Laredo, Texas. In Laredo the astroturf will be transferred unto a truck to complete the journey to Torreon, Mexico. The Spanish American Mission has a church with a soccer ministry in the city of one million people. Spanish American Mission Director, Doug Bytwerk, left, and FCFI Board member C P. Foster are shown with the loaded truckload. The Fellowship has helped build and repair church buildings with Pastor Tony in Torreon since 1993.
Pastor Tony invites FCFI farmers and their families to join an FCFI Mexico Mission trip to Torreon to complete meeting rooms that need to accommodate youth soccer program growth this winter and in the future. Contact the FCFI Home Office for details. Cell/text 309-530-7004 and e-mail: fellowship@fcfi.org. See Pastor Tony’s video here ==> Mexico Report.
In July 2019, a Vacation Bible School in Torreon included soccer on astro turf with a gas station style steel canopy for shade. Wonderful response from many new families. The World Cup of soccer created a lot of interest among young people to play soccer. Before a youngster could play soccer, a VBS Bible lesson had to be completed. This year’s truckload of astro turf will allow the doubling of the size of the soccer field. Please pray that the Lord will use the love of soccer to become the love of the gospel for many boys and girls.
Each boy and girl receives a soccer ball at the completion of the Vacation Bible School. A precious toy in Torreon.
