Romania Mission Trip – March 3–19 (Tentative)
We are gearing up for an upcoming mission trip to Romania led by FCFI board director Steve Cernek, and we are inviting individuals who feel called to serve, support, and grow in international ministry to prayerfully consider joining this impactful journey.
A Long-Term, Trusted Ministry in Romania
For over two decades, Fellowship of Christian Farmers International (FCFI) has built deep, long-term relationships with Romanian churches and ministry partners, primarily in western Romania around Oradea and Transylvania and primarily with Pastor Alex, regional director of CrossTalk Global.
FCFI board leadership and volunteers have traveled to Romania many times over the years — at least 16 trips by board leadership alone — serving alongside Romanian pastors and churches in practical service, evangelism, agriculture, and discipleship. Early efforts included agricultural projects such as helping establish a dairy farm connected to orphan care and ministry infrastructure, laying a foundation for long-term sustainability and outreach.
Camp Ministry, Construction, and Youth Outreach
In more recent years, the ministry has focused on developing facilities that support wider gospel impact. A former nursing home was transitioned into a youth camp ministry center, now used for children’s and youth outreach by Romanian churches and international teams.
Recent mission teams have worked on construction and improvement projects, including building bathrooms and protective outdoor structures to support summer programs and gatherings. American volunteers and Romanian believers have worked side-by-side, strengthening fellowship while expanding ministry capacity. There are also ongoing discussions about renovating a local village church building for broader community and ministry use.
Responding to Crisis: Ukrainian Refugee Support
A significant development in recent years came after the outbreak of war in Ukraine. FCFI partners in Romania helped provide shelter, care, and spiritual encouragement to Ukrainian refugees crossing into Romania for safety. At one point, approximately 70 Ukrainian children were housed and cared for at the camp facility.
Beyond immediate needs, the ministry has continued through ongoing relationships — helping families adjust, encouraging children, and walking with them pastorally during displacement and uncertainty.
Worship, Fellowship, and Church Partnership
Throughout every phase of the work, strengthening the local church has remained central. FCFI teams regularly participate in joint worship services, revival meetings, and fellowship with Romanian believers and other nationalities. Romanian church partners lead and sustain the ministry, while FCFI serves in a supportive role — reinforcing local leadership rather than replacing it.
Romania is one of several international fields where FCFI seeks to combine practical service with clear gospel proclamation, consistent with the ministry’s outreach at fairs, farm shows, and communities worldwide. Prayer and partnership remain central, with ongoing encouragement for supporters to pray for the work in Romania.

About This Upcoming Trip
The tentative travel dates for this trip are March 3 through March 19. While the full two-week schedule is strongly encouraged, a shorter commitment of 7–10 days can be arranged for those unable to be away the entire time. Experience has shown that longer stays allow for deeper relationships, more meaningful ministry, and greater long-term impact.
At this time, two men are already confirmed, with three additional individuals prayerfully considering participation.
This mission trip will provide opportunities to serve alongside Alex Stoie, encourage believers, assist with hands-on outreach and facility work, and participate in gospel-centered ministry. It is also a powerful opportunity for personal spiritual growth, cultural understanding, and stepping out in faith beyond one’s comfort zone.
Whether you are a seasoned missions traveler or someone who has never served internationally before, this trip offers a chance to be part of something meaningful, relational, and eternal.
