Hurricane Ian Rips Florida

On September 28, 2022, Hurricane Ian made landfall in Southwest Florida as a category 4 hurricane, with sustained winds of 150 mph, causing a massive storm surge, inundating the coastal areas near Fort Meyers, Cape Coral, all the way up to Sarasota and beyond.

The Fellowship of Christian Farmers, International is setting up a base camp in Arcadia, Florida. Area Leaders Bill Brown and Mike Weaver will be heading up the relief effort for FCFI at the Mt. Ephraim Baptist Church, 2865 Country Road 661, Arcadia, FL 34266. Equipment on site will include our donated Branson Tractor with grapling bucket and post hole digger, Kabota, chain saws, including a brand new 41-inch Stihl for cutting massive trees. Our crews cut trees, remove brush, rebuild fences, and restore lives and livelyhood.

Most often, the Fellowship of Christian Farmers help rural farm folks. Most farmers have homeowners insurance, but rarely are their pastures, fences, and outbuildings covered the same way. FCFI help these people recover from disaster that otherwise would not receive any help. Many popular disaster relief organizations buzz in, clean up in front of the cameras, and buzz out. FCFI stays until the work is done and the farmers have recovered. We are still busy in Louisiana, from last year’s hurricanes, and in Kentucky cleaning up tornado damage in Western Kentucky and flood damage in Eastern Kentucky.

FCFI has a Mission Trip scheduled for January 28 – February 3, 2023 at ECHO Global Farms in North Fort Meyers, Florida. We have just added a trip to ECHO Global Farms this November to help the clean up there. The farm was also hit by Hurricane Irma a few short years ago. About 25 people are coming so far to help there.
At FCFI, we help people recover from disasters of every kind, even beyond physical disasters. First and foremost, we preach Jesus Christ, and His Salvation. Many new believers have come to know Jesus Christ through the disaster relief work of the Fellowship of Christian Farmers. We will be there for the long haul.
Please prayerfully consider how you can help the peopel of Florida recover from Hurricane Ian. Whether you can handle a chain saw, operate heavy equipment, or just drag brush to a burn pile, or visit with someone who has lost everything, you can still show them that Jesus hasn’t abandoned them. Thank you for your support!
