Herkimer, New York Trapper Show Outreach

Don Baker and Tracy Muphy sharing at this event held in September at the Herkimer County Fair Grounds

This past September, the Fellowship of Christian Farmers International had the privilege of ministering at the annual Trapper Show held at the Herkimer County Fairgrounds in Herkimer. The event brought together individuals and families from across the region, creating a wonderful opportunity to connect with people in a relaxed and welcoming setting.

Don Baker and Tracy Murphy faithfully represented the ministry, spending the day engaging with attendees and sharing the Gospel message. Throughout the event, many stopped by the booth—some out of curiosity, others eager to talk. Conversations ranged from lighthearted exchanges to heartfelt discussions about faith, struggles, and the hope found in Jesus Christ. Each interaction was a reminder that God prepares hearts long before we arrive.

Christyne Brown, of Region Eight, also lent her support during the outreach. Her assistance and experience were a tremendous blessing as the team worked together to ensure that every person who visited had the opportunity to hear the message of salvation and receive prayer if needed.

Outreach events like the Trapper Show are important because they allow us to meet people right where they are. In the middle of a community gathering, seeds of faith are planted—sometimes through a simple conversation, a Gospel tract, or a sincere prayer. While we may not immediately see the fruit, we trust that God is working behind the scenes.

We are thankful for the open doors in Herkimer and for those who faithfully serve at events like this. Please continue to pray for the individuals who heard the Gospel during the Trapper Show, that the seeds planted will take root and produce a lasting harvest for God’s kingdom.
