Help Restore Fairview Baptist Bible College in Jamaica

A Construction Mission to Rebuild, Restore, and Prepare Future Ministry Leaders

On October 28, 2025, Hurricane Melissa, a historic Category 5 storm and the strongest ever recorded in Jamaica, made landfall, leaving widespread destruction across the island. Homes were damaged or destroyed, crops were flattened, landslides occurred, and coastal communities experienced significant flooding. Power and communication systems were disrupted, while debris blocked major roads and isolated several communities.

As soon as airports reopened, Disaster Relief Volunteers from Fellowship of Christian Farmers International (FCFI) responded from November 5–8, 2025. Their initial mission focused on distributing limited critical supplies and assessing locations for future disaster relief and ministry projects.

Over the past year, FCFI has continued communicating the needs of affected Jamaican communities, raising funds, and organizing opportunities for volunteers to provide assistance.

The first major construction mission took place from January 29 to February 9, 2026. During this trip, 23 FCFI Disaster Relief Volunteers helped rebuild three churches in St. Elizabeth Parish, bringing practical assistance and encouragement to congregations affected by the hurricane.

Now, another important opportunity is ahead.

Restoring Fairview Baptist Bible College

Fairview Baptist Bible College (FBBC) is the next selected project for FCFI Disaster Relief.

Established on January 4, 1963, by Rev. Roland Smith and Mr. Robert Clubine, the college was founded to train pastors for the newly established Association of Independent Baptist Churches in Jamaica.

Since then, its mission has expanded to prepare men and women for local church ministry and missions throughout Jamaica, the Caribbean, and beyond. Originally beginning with just six students, Fairview has trained more than 400 men and women for ministry.

The college is supported primarily through gifts from individuals and churches in Jamaica and abroad. Its commitment to preparing servant leaders has made it an important part of Christian ministry and leadership development in the region.

Unfortunately, Hurricane Melissa caused significant infrastructure damage, forcing the college to close its doors. Fairview hopes to reopen within the next three years, depending on its ability to raise the funds needed to repair its facilities.

Restoring the college means more than repairing buildings. It means helping preserve a place where future pastors, ministry leaders, and missionaries can receive the training they need to serve their communities and share the Gospel.

Join the November 2026 Construction Mission

From November 12–22, 2026, FCFI plans to send 25 Disaster Relief Volunteers to Fairview Baptist Bible College to work on repairs to the men’s dormitory.

The estimated cost of repairing this single building, including materials and labor, is J$19,847,942.22 (approximately US$125,619.88).

During their week and a half at the college, volunteers will provide hands-on labor to complete as many repairs as available funding will allow. Every contribution will help purchase the materials and supplies needed to move this project forward.

Your Support Makes the Work Possible

This is where FCFI donors can make a meaningful difference. The amount of work volunteers can accomplish will depend largely on the financial support received before and during the mission.

Whether your gift helps purchase building materials, supplies, or other essential resources, your generosity will help restore a facility dedicated to preparing future Christian leaders.

Together, we can help Fairview Baptist Bible College move closer to reopening its doors and continuing its ministry.

Please consider supporting FCFI’s November 2026 Construction Mission in Jamaica. Every gift helps us accomplish more.

Give today and help rebuild a place where future generations will be equipped to serve God.
