A dedicated professional and global missions volunteer, Mark Fisher has combined his technical expertise with a passion for ministry, combined with international development to support communities around the world.
Educational Foundation in Engineering
- Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, NY
- 1978 – B.S. in Aeronautical Engineering
- 1979 – M.S. in Mechanical Engineering
Global Volunteer Experience that Makes an Impact
- Escana, Bolivia – Worked with Global Citizens Network to support Peace Corps efforts. Helped build greenhouses, developed additional water sources, introduced drip irrigation, and launched a seed store.
- Dushanbe, Tajikistan – Partnered with the Farmer-To-Farmer program and Mercy Corps to construct snow-resilient greenhouses. Authored a successful proposal for a canning factory, which now serves the community through the “Dilsuz” organization, benefiting individuals with disabilities.
- Kampala, Uganda – As Director of Harvest Chapel Mission Inc., introduced The Empower-Train, a prototype diesel/electric hybrid farm vehicle. Transported in luggage and assembled on-site with hand tools, the vehicle offered solutions for water pumping, grain grinding, and oil pressing—directly improving local farm income.

About Mark’s ministry: Harvest Chapel Mission (HCM)
Harvest Chapel Mission (HCM) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit founded in 2004. Its mission is to bring glory to God and provide assistance to those in need using sustainable technology. Under HCM, the following equipment has been developed:
- A hand/hydraulic-operated flour mill and corn sheller
- A belt-driven hammer mill and grain thresher
- A multi-use power cart that operates various equipment such as irrigation pumps, generators, threshers, hydraulic pumps, and also charges batteries
- A remote power unit that runs on bio-fuel
- A low-speed vehicle (in development) designed to haul water and produce

This equipment is intended to empower small farmers around the world by improving their income and quality of life. The tools are adaptable to the unique needs of farmers—whether it’s irrigation in the morning, transporting goods in the afternoon, or offering services like grain grinding and battery charging. Most units are designed to be air-transportable as checked baggage or can be shipped in kit form and assembled locally. Equipment can also be shared across villages to generate value-added products and economic growth.

In addition, HCM has developed a low-cost, modular steel truss building system—suitable for constructing hurricane/earthquake-resistant structures, such as agricultural buildings, homes, churches, towers, and bridges. The long-term vision includes setting up local manufacturing of these structures and farm tools within the countries they serve.
Past HCM projects include:
- Sending seeds and drip irrigation tape to a pastor in Uganda
- Supporting a high school student’s volunteer service with the Christian Appalachian Project
- Sponsoring a “Hugs Not Drugs” workbook and T-shirt program for local youth
- Fundraising for the American Cancer Society and a local child battling cancer
HCM plans to expand both local community support and global missions outreach.
