FCFI Prayer Guide – September 2024

Please pray for Chase Giddens, a 15 year old young man recently
diagnosed with brain cancer. Surgery was performed but surgeon
was not able to reach the tumor. Biopsies were done and expecting
results shortly. Please keep Chase and his family in your everyday
prayers as he decides to fight or sustain, according to the biopsy results.

1. David then took up residence in the fortress and called it the City of
David. He built up the area around it, from the supporting terraces
inward. And he became more and more powerful, because the Lord
God Almighty was with him, (2Samuel 5:9-10). Cities and provinces
once considered mighty fortresses were defeated by David
because God was with him. We pray to know God is the only
security that can’t be defeated. 8/29-9/01 Spencer Fair, Spencer,
Ma, Bill Brown…8/20-9/01 Sandusky County Restorers Antique Power Show, Gibsonburg, OH, Bill Brown

2. God gave Solomon wisdom and very great insight, and a breadth of
understanding as measureless as the sand on the seashore, (1Kings
4:29). God gave Solomon the wisdom he asked for. We pray to
ask for gifts that will glorify God. Please pray for Charles he is
having problems with his knees. Pray for healing for his wife Joan.

3. She (a widow) left him (Elisha) and afterward shut the door behind
her and her sons. They brought the jars to her and she kept pouring.
When all the jars were full, she said to her son, bring me another. But he replied, there is not a jar left, Then the oil stopped flowing. She
went and told the man of God, and he said, Go sell the oil and pay
your debtors. You and your sons can live on what is left, (2 Kings 4:5-7). The amount of jars the woman collected was an indication of
their faith…the oil only ran out when they ran out of jars. We pray
not to limit God with our lack of faith. 4-8 Luzerne County Fair,
Dallas, PA, Wayne Laidacker, Dave Merithew

4. All of these (men mentioned above) were descendants of Asher, heads of families, choice men, brave warriors and outstanding leaders. The number of men ready for battle, as listed in their genealogy was26,000, (1Chronicles 7:40). Each son of Israel was listed and their descendants. Our most important father is our Heavenly Father. We pray to call on the name of Jesus and become joint heirs with Him. 4-8 Orleans County Fair, Barton, VT, Bill Brown

5. He (Solomon) built the Most Holy Place, its length corresponding to the width of the Temple, twenty cubits wide. He overlaid the inside with six hundred talents of fine gold. The gold nails weighed fifty shekels. He also overlaid the upper parts with gold, (2Chronicles3:8-9). Solomon built the temple according to God’s guidelines. He finished it with the finest of materials. We pray not to diminish God’s House of worship with giving less than our best. 5-8 NittanyAntique Machinery Show, Centre Hall, PA, Michael Steele

6. Furthermore, I (King Darius) decree that if anyone changes this edict, a beam is to be pulled from his house and he is to be lifted up and impaled on it, and for this crime his house is to be made a pile of rubble, (Ezra 6:11). While the Temple was being rebuilt there were trouble makers from provinces about Jerusalem. Letters were sent to various king asking for them to decree that the work would stop. King Darius found that King Cyrus had given the Jews permission to rebuild and so he sent a decree that these trouble makers not only could not stop the work they also had to help finance it. Sometimes God has a sense of humor!!! We pray to trust that God will take care of the trouble makers in our lives. 5-8 Hebron Harvest Fair, Hebron, CT, Bill Brown

7. The Fountain Gate was repaired by Shallun son of Col-Hozeh, ruler of the district of Mizpah. He rebuilt it, roofing it over and putting its doors and bolts and bars in place. He also repaired the wall of the Pool of Siloam, by the King’s Garden, as far as the steps going down from the City of David, (Nehemiah 3:15). Once the people became
serious about rebuilding the city wall of Jerusalem, the work went
quickly. Different men took on the responsibility of a portion of
the wall. We pray to work well with others in sharing the Gospel
message of Jesus Saves!!! Canajoharie Street Fair, Canajoharie,
NY, Bill Brown

8. Queen Vashti also gave a banquet for the women in the royal palace
of King Xerxes, (Esther 1:9). Queen Vashti was a valuable asset to
her husband, King Xerxes…until…she refused to be mocked
during his state of drunkenness. Esther became queen after that,
according to God’s plan to safe His chosen people, the Jewish
nation. We pray to know that God has a plan and to submit
our lives to His greater plan. 7-9 Lycoming County Ballon Fest,
Hughesville, PA, Michael Steele

9. One day when Job’s sons and daughters were feasting and drinking
wine at the oldest brother’s house, a messenger came to Job and said,
The oxen were plowing and the donkeys were grazing nearby, and
the Sabeans attacked and carried them off . They put the servants to
the sword, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you, (Job
1:13-15). In a matter of a few minutes Job learned that his children,
his servants and all of his animals were gone. It took some time
but because Job was faithful God restored all and more to him.
8-9 Central NY Farm Progress Show, Mohawk, NY, Bill Brown

10. Many are asking, Who can show us any good? Let the light of Your
face shine upon us, O Lord. You have filled my heart with greater joy
that when their grain and new wine abound, (Psalm 4:6-7). Inward
joy comes from knowing and trusting God. Happiness comes as
a result of good things in our lives. As we trust God inward joy is
lasting but happiness comes and goes with our circumstances.
We pray to have joy down in our soul. 8-11 four Town Fair,
Somers, CT, Bill Brown

11. How long will you simple ones love your simple ways? How long will
mockers delight in mockery and fools hate knowledge, (Proverbs
1:22). Foolish people do not want knowledge that will set them
free. They would rather stay in a place of la la land. We pray to
grow in Sprit and in Truth. 10-12 Husker Harvest Days, Grand
Island, NE, Jeff Goss

12. The sun rises and the sun sets, and hurries back to where it rises,
(Ecclesiastes 1:5). Solomon had great riches and was the smartest man in the world. His conclusion that nothing outside of God can
satisfy us or give us meaning in this life. We pray to honor God with
our lives. 12-15 MD Bike Week, Ocean City, MD, Michael Steele

13. Your rulers are rebels, campions of thieves, they all love bribes and
chase after gifts. They do not defend the cause of the fatherless, the
widow’s case does not come before them, (Isaiah 1:23). Little has
changed in all these years. Many still live their lives as if God
doesn’t matter. God will not be mocked. We pray for revival in our
country. O Lord we cry out to You. 13-15 Country Living Farm
and Home Show, Frankfort, NY, Bill Brown

14. The word of the Lord came to me, Go and proclaim in the hearing
of Jerusalem: I remember the devotion of your youth, how as a
bride you loved Me and followed Me through the desert, through
a land not sown, (Jeremiah 2:1-2). The Israelites were devoted to
God in the beginning. Their temptations distracted them and
they no longer were in love with their God like a bride. We pray
to examine our own motives and see if our devotion as waned.
Cream Cheese Festival, Lowville, NY, Bill Brown….14-15 Gun
Show, Syracuse, NY, Bill Brown

15. Without pity the Lord has swallowed up all the dwellings of Jacob,
in His wrath He has torn down the strongholds of the Daughter of
Judah. He has brought her kingdom and its princes down to the
ground in dishonor, (Lamentations 2:2). God’s Chosen people were
warned and warned but did not heed the warnings. We pray to
not live like the unsaved…but to keep our first love for Christ. 14
15 Pennsylvania Heritage Day, Easton, PA, Michael Steele

16. But if you do warn the righteous man not to sin and he does not sin,
he will surely live because he took warning, and you will be saved
yourself, (Ezekiel 3:21). Ezekiel’s calling was to warn, confront, and
reveal God to the house of Israel. Unless he was true to his calling,
he would be held accountable for those lives lost. We pray to ask
God for our calling and to be true to working in that compacity.
17-19 Farm Science Review, London, OH, Bill Nichols

17. And (Daniel) said, Praise be to the name of God forever and ever,
wisdom and power are His, (Daniel 2:20). Daniel was able to avert
the mass killing of all the wise men in Babylon by interpreting
the king’s dream, as revealed to him in a vision. We pray to be
ever vigilant to God’s wisdom in our daily lives. 20-22 Wolcott Fair, Wolcott, CT, Bill Brown

18. There is only cursing, lying and murder, stealing and adultery, they
break all bounds, and bloodshed follows bloodshed, (Hosea 4:2). Sin
always has a price and a reckoning day. Our sin can be forgiven
but there are consequences of that sin. We pray to repent and
draw back closer to the Lord. 21-22 Remsen Barn Festival,
Remsen, NY, Bill Brown

19. In those days and at that time, when I restore the fortunes of Judah
and Jerusalem, I will gather all nations and bring them down to the
Valley of Jehoshaphat. There I will enter into judgment against them
concerning My inheritance, My people Israel, for they scattered My
people among the nations and divided up My land, (Joesl3:1-2).
There will be a time of reckoning…some will be for ongoing
attacks against Israel and God’s judgment on people who do so.
Some will be in the last days when all will the judged. We pray to
be found faithful and we pray to stand with Israel. 21-22 Apple
Fest, Central Square, NY, Bill Brown

20. Instead, the men did their best to row back to land. But they could
not, for the sea grew even wilder than before. Then they cried to the
Lord, O Lord, please do not let us die for taking this man’s life. Do
not hold us accountable for killing an innocent man, for You, O Lord
have done as You pleased, (Johah 1:13-14). Jonah was running
from God but the men on the boat were facing the consequences
of his actions. We pray to not bring sin on others by our actions.
15-21 Gratz Fair, Gratz, PA, Wayne Laidacker

21. Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for
the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an
inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are
serving, (Colossians 3:23-24). If we consider our work an act of
worship to God then most of our problems and resentments
would fade away. We pray to work without complaining. 21-22
Underhill Market Festival, Underhill, VT, Bill Brown

22. For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, get
drunk at night. But since we belong to the day, let us be self
controlled, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope
of salvation as a helmet, (1Thessalonians 5:7-8). Faith, love and
hope should govern us as the body of Christ. We pray to wear
them with humility as we go about our day, using self- control. Please pray for Hugh, he has declining health and is frustrated
because of always having been able to work and cannot now.

23. I, Paul, write this greeting in my own hand, which is the distinguishing
mark in all my letters. This is how I write. The grace of our Lord Jesus
Christ be with you all, (2Thessalonians 3:17-18). Paul, after having
been struck with the love of Jesus, preached and taught Jesus
Christ as our Savior and nothing more. We pray to live our lives
accordingly. Please lift a halleluiah for Freddie, he is home and
doing pretty good. He is starting chemo and continues therapy
to build his strength.

24. If you point these thing (all things God created is good), you will
be a good minister of Christ Jesus, brought up in the truths of the
faith and of the good teaching that you have followed, (1Timothy
4:6). We should use the things God has created to glorify Him and
for the good of others. We pray to use God’s creation in a way
pleasing to God. Please Pray for Diana’s son-in-law. He had heart
valve replacement. Please pray for Mickie, a young woman with
sudden high blood pressure issues.

25. Instead, to suit their own desires they will gather around them a
great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.
They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths,
(2Timothy 4:3-4). Rather than jumping on the current trend of
news, we are to remember the real Good News and stay with
our eyes turned toward Jesus. We pray to not be easily swayed
or fooled with new teachings unless they are based on Jesus and
Him alone. Please pray for Petrina, she has cancer.

26. Therefore, the Lord says, I am planning disaster against this people,
for which you cannot save yourselves. You will no longer walk proudly,
for it will be a time of calamity, (Micah 2:3). The people of Israel had
rejected what was right and true. God’s desire was for them to
return to Him. His punishment was meant to bring them back to
Him. We pray to be faithful to our God. 21-28 Bloomsburg Fair,
Bloomsburg, PA, Doc DeVoe

27. The mountains quake before Him and the hills melt away. The earth
trembles at His presence, the word and all who live in it, (Nahum 1:5).
God is slow to anger but when His wrath comes even the earth
trembles. We pray to repent from our sins and the sins of those
around us. 27-28 Outreach Dinner Meeting, NY, Bill Brown

28. They fly like a vulture swooping to devour, they all come bent
on violence. Their hordes advance like a desert wind and gather
prisoners like sand, (Habakkuk 1:9). The Babylonians rose quickly
to world power and God used them to punish Judah. We pray to
know we have no security except in God our Savior. Please pray
for Mickie, his son died in a tragic accident and now he has had
a stroke, home and doing better but still has complications.

29. I (God) will bring distress on the people and they will walk like
blind men, because they have sinned against the Lord. Their blood
will be poured out like dust and their entrails like filth, (Zephaniah
1:17). Judgement seems harsh when it comes. But disobedience
was harsh to God. We pray to repent and turn from our wicked
ways and trust in God our Salvation. Please pray for our farmers,
weather, and commodity prices are volatile from here to
harvest.

30. This is what the Lord Almighty says, It may seem marvelous to the
remnant of this people at that time, but will it seem marvelous to Me?
Declares the Lord Almighty, (Zechariah 8:6). The remnant of people
who had come back to Jerusalem had sat around discouraged
rather than working to rebuild the Temple and the city walls. God
was saying when it would be finished the people would be proud
of what they had done but God knew with them leaning on Him
it could have been done much earlier. We pray to stay on track of
the ministry God has given us. Please pray for our country as the upcoming election is showing how divided our citizen are.
