- Please pray for all the victims of Hurrican Helene and the clean up.
- Please pray for a miracle for PW as she has serious cancer.
- Please pray for a 6 year old granddaughter who has been having seizures and doesn’t see a neurologist until October 15th.
- Please pray for Jamie as she has breast cancer. Pray for God’s wisdom and guidance.
- Ruthie is in ICU with breathing difficulty and pain. They found a blood clot. Please pray for her peace and comfort and God’s guidance for the doctors and nurses.
1. The hardworking farmer should be the first to receive a share of the
crops, (2Timothy2:6). Paul was encouraging Timothy during his time
of transition from a helper to a leader. Just as a farmer must work
hard and be patient for the time of harvest so must we as disciples.
We pray to glorify God as we go out to work as disciples of Christ.
Please pray for Petrina. She has cancer and needs a healing touch from God.
2. This, then, are the things you should teach. Encourage and rebuke with
all authority. Do not let anyone despise you, (Titus 2:15). As youth,
the more mature intimidate us, when we are older, more youthful
disciples with new ideas make us seem old and unusable. Paul
encouraged Titus to teach Scripture and then to live them and no
one could question his authority. We pray to live lives that reflect the
Scripture we teach. Please pray for Clark, he is having issues and is not doing well health wise.
3. Therefore, since the promise of entering His rest still stands, let us be
careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of it, (Hebrews
4:1). Often the difficulties of the present moment overwhelm us and
the realities of God’s promises. We, too, fall victim of doubt and can
we trust God. We pray to rest in Christ alone. 4-6 Harwinton Fair,
Harwinton, CT, Bill Brown
4. What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no
deeds? Can such faith save him? Suppose a brother or sister is without
clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him, Go, I wish you well, keep warm and well fed, but does nothing about his physical needs, what
good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by
action, is dead, (James 2:14-17). True faith transforms our thoughts
and actions. Deeds do not earn us Salvation but they do confi rm our
Salvation. We pray to add feet to our faith. 4-6 Ozark Fall Farmfest,
Springfield, MO, Jeff Goss
5. Though you have not seen Him (Jesus), you love Him and even though
you do not see Him now, you believe in Him and are filled with an
inexpressible and glorious joy, (1Peter 1:8). Trials and tribulations
will come to a Christian’s life to test and grow our faith. As we grow
closer in our walk we can do so with joy, even in our troubles. We
pray for a heart of joy. Wintergreen Harvest Festival, Canajoharie
NY, Bill Brown
6. For if you possess these qualities (Fruits of the Spirit) in increasing
measures, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive
in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ, (2Peter 1:8). As we grow
in faith, it fills us and touches all that we do. We pray to not be
complacent Believers but rather those who will be effective and
productive because of our growing faith. 5-6 Vendor Fair, Teel
Farms, Barneveld, NY, Bill Brown
7. If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who does
what is right has been born of Him, (1John2:29). Right behavior is
visible proof of being a Christian. True faith results in good deeds.
We pray to be busy about God’s work.
8. And the twenty-four elders, who were seated on their thrones before
God, fell on their faces and worshiped God, (Revelation 11:16). These
24 Elders are a representation of all Believers. These are praying
night and day. We pray to be in a constant state of prayer in our lives.
8-9 Tioga County Early Days, Whitneyville, PA, Michael Steele
9.The man and his wife were both naked and they felt no shame, (Genesis
2:25). Like innocent children, Adam and Eve knew no shame because
they knew no evil. We pray to keep our lives out of the gutter of the
world and keep our focus on Christ alone. Please give a shout of
Halleluiah! Bill’s tests came back clear of cancer.
10. Moses agreed to stay with the man (Jethro), who gave his daughter
Zipporah to Moses in marriage, (Exodus 2:21). Moses was a Jew
raised as an Egyptian in the house of Pharaoh. When he killed an
Egyptian, he had to flee for his life. He came to live with Jethro in the
land of Midian, where he lived for 40 years. We pray to trust God to
deliver us when we have done something wrong. Please pray for Anne’s 6 year-old daughter who is having seizures…her appointment is tomorrow.
11. When someone brings a grain offering to the Lord, his offering is to be
of fi ne flour. He is to pour oil on it, put incense on it and take it to Aaron’s
sons the priests. The priests shall take a handful of the fine flour and
oil, together with all the incense, and burn this as a memorial portion
on the altar an offering made by fire, an aroma pleasing to the Lord,
(Leviticus 2:1-2). This grain offering was a gift of thanks to God for
their food. Our prayers of thanksgiving are an aroma pleasing to
the Lord. We pray to give thanks for all our many blessings. 11-13
Riverton Fair, Riverton, CT, Bill Brown
12. The Lord spoke to Moses in the Tent of Meeting in the Desert of Sinai
on the first day of the second month of the second year after the
Israelites came out of Egypt. He said, Take a census of the whole Israelite
community by their clans and families, listing every man by name, one
by one, (Numbers 1:1-2). Of course, God knew who and how many
were there. It would be important in the future of the Israelites that
this census of names and numbers would be recorded. We pray to
share with our children and grandchildren things God has done for
us in the past. 12-13 Oak Harbor Apple Festival, Oak Harbor, OH,
Michael Steele
13. The Lord you God has blessed you in all the work of your hands. He
has watched over your journey through this vast desert. These forty
years the Lord you God has been with you, and you have not lacked
anything, (Deuteronomy 2:7). Lack of faith kept the Israelites in the
same desert for 40 years going round and round Mt Siani. God took
care of them, but they didn’t fulfill their destiny because of their lack
of faith. We pray to step out on faith in our calling from God. Please
pray for Dan. He is very sick. Please pray for his salvation as well.
14. Then the Lord said to Joshua, Today I have rolled away the reproach of
Egypt from you. So, the place has been called Gilgal to this day, (Joshua
5: 9). As the new generation of Israelites entered Canaan they were
circumcised and ate food from the land for the first time in 40 years. The
circumstances of our past may follow us, but it does not confine us. God
can and will use us as we submit to His will. We pray to be submissive.
Please pray for Henry. He has cancer and covets our prayers.
15. These are the nations the Lord left to test all those Israelites who had
not experienced any of the wars in Canaan (He did this only to teach
warfare to the descendants of the Israelites who had not had previous
battle experience, (Judges 3:1-2). God left these people to test the younger generations faith and obedience. Maybe God has allowed
people in our lives for the same reasons. We pray to keep people
in our lives that are an influence of righteousness. 15-17 Sunbelt
Agriculture EXPO, Moultrie, GA, Bill Brown
16. Then the elders and all those at the gate said, We are witnesses. May
the Lord make the woman who is coming into your house like Rachel
and Leah, who together built up the house of Israel. May you have
standing in Ephrathah and be famous in Bethlehem, (Ruth 4:11). Boaz
had spoken up for Ruth at the city gates. He was going to marry
her. We know she was the grandmother of Jessie, the father of
David. She didn’t live long enough to know her impact on the future
generations, even today’s generations. We pray to live lives with a
faithfulness that will extend long past our present time. Please pray
for Rita. She needs wisdom with her finances…add all of us who
are struggling with this issue in these days
17. And she (Hannah) said to him (Eli), As surely as you live, my lord, I am
the woman who stood here beside you praying to the Lord. I prayed for
this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of Him. So now,
I have him to the Lord. For his whole life he will be given over to the
Lord. And he worshiped the Lord there, (1Samuel 1:26-28). Eli had
thought Hannah was drunk when he first saw her praying. He then
prophesied that she would have a child. Hannah took Samuel to the
Temple and had him dedicated to the Lord. She gave back her most
prized possession…something she had prayed for, for years. We
pray to know all good things come from God. Please lift a shout of
praise for those who were able to attend and help with the recent
mission trip.
18. Abner conferred with the elders of Israel and said, For some time you
have wanted to make David your king. Now do it! For the Lord promised
David, By my servant David I will rescue my people Israel from the hand
of the Philistines and from the hand of all their enemies, (2Samuael
3:17-18). God had anointed David king but because of the divide
between Israel and Judah David was running for his life. After Saul’s
death his loyal followers were trying to gather strength to make him
King of both divisions. We pray follow our anointed calling from
God. Please pray for the FCFI. Pray for events, people to man those
events, new workers, and fi nances to carry this mission forward.
19. The people of Judah and Israel were a numerous as the sand on the
seashore, they ate, they drank, and they were happy. And Solomon
ruled over all the kingdoms from the river, to the land of the Philistines, as far as the border of Egypt. These countries brought tribute and were
Solomon’s subjects all his life, (1Kings 4:20-21). Most of his reign
Solomon used his wisdom to bring peace, security and prosperity to
the nation. We pray to be united in trust and obedience to God. Mt
Ephraim Baptist Church Family Day, Arcadia, FL, Bill Brown
20. She (the Shunamite woman) saddled the donkey and said to her
servant, Lead on, don’t slow down for me unless I tell you. So, she set out
and came to the man of God at Mount Carmel, (2Kings 4:24-25). This
woman whom Elisha had prophesied for her a son went to Elisha
when her son suddenly died. Her faith healed her son as Elisha went
and prayed over the boy. We pray to have great faith in times of
great turmoil. 19-21 Hellers Orchard Apple Festival, Wapwallopen,
PA, Michael Steele
21. Adam, Seth, Enosh, Kenan, Mahalalel, Jared, Enoch, Methuselah,
Lamech, Noah. The sons of Noah, Shem, Ham and Japheth, (1
Chronicles 1:1-4). The beginning of Civilization as we know it. The
names down to Abraham were listed here in order of birth. We pray
to know our Father God…the Maker of heaven and earth. Please
pray for William. He has recently retired and needs God’s wisdom
for the decisions he now needs to make.
22. Now David had brought up the Ark of God from Kiriath Jearim to the
place he had prepared for it, because he had pitched a tent for it in
Jerusalem, (2Chronicles 1:4). David had prepared to have the Ark in
the place where the Temple would be built. Now Solomon would see
that this was accomplished. We pray to be prepared for the spiritual
future of our generation. Please pray for Peter. He has cancer and
the treatments have ravaged him in such a bad way that he has
stopped treatment for now.
23. These searched for their family records, but they could not find them
and so were excluded from the priesthood as unclean. The governor
ordered them not to eat any of the most sacred food until there was a
priest ministering with the Urim and Thummin, (Ezra 2:62-63). Israel
had been in captivity for 70 years. Now they were able to return
to Jerusalem. The earlier Chronicles were used to search for names
from the linage of Levi as to whether a man could become a Priest.
We pray that our Spiritual linage begins with Jesus as our Savior.
Please pray for Pete and Sandy as they do God’s work all over the
Eastern Seaboard of the USA. Pray for wisdom, finances and ways they can reach out and be an arm for FCFI in doing God’s work.
24. Also, our enemies said, Before they know it or see us, we will be right there among them and will kill them and put an end to the work. Then
the Jews who lived near them came and told us ten times over, wherever
you turn, they will attack us. Therefore, I stationed some of the people
behind the lowest points of the wall at the exposed places, posting them
by families, with their swords, spears and bows, (Nehemiah 4:11-13).
Whatever work we do for the Lord will need intercessors, workers,
and soldiers to keep it going strong. We pray to do our work and to
intercede and protect those doing their work for the Lord. Please
pray for our farmers and their families as harvest time is upon
them. Pray for safety in the long days and nights of gathering
crops. Please pray for commodity prices to rise to a level they can
make a living for their families.
25. Then the king’s personal attendants proposed, Let a search be made for
beautiful young virgins for the king. Let the king appoint commissioners
in every province of his realm to bring all these beautiful girls into the
harem at the citadel of Susa, (Esther 2:2-3). Queen Vashti was out and
all the men in the kingdom were scrambling to get the right woman
for King Xerxes. He already had a harem. We pray to not act in haste
when we are angry…it often has long-reaching consequences. 26
Apple Festival, Congregational Church, Salem, CT, Bill Brown
26. Then the Lord said to Satan, Have you considered My servant Job? There
is no one on earth like him, he is blameless and upright, a man who
fears God and shuns evil. And he still maintains his integrity, though
you incited Me against him to ruin him without any reason, (Job 2:3).
Of all the things we desire, freedom from pain is on top of the list…
we will do anything to get out of pain. Satan still thought Job would
turn against God if in physical pain. We pray to understand pain
is not always punishment … sometimes it happens to further the
will of God in our lives. Watsontown Light the Night, Milton, PA,
Michael Steele
27. I am worn out from groaning, all night long I fl ood my bed with weeping
and drench my couch with tears. My eyes grow weak with sorrow, they
fail because of all my foes, (Psalm 6:6-7). David was overwhelmed
because Saul was chasing him to kill him and still people were critical
of David because he was trying to save himself. We pray to respond to
slander and people kicking us under the table with crying out to God
and letting Him bring justice and restore our reputation…rather than
taking revenge. 26-27 Pioneer Days, Lake Wales, FL, Bill Brown
28. Her ways are pleasant ways, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of
life to those who embrace her, those who lay hold of her will be blessed, (Proverbs 3:17-18). One of the benefits of wisdom is peace. Making
and choosing to take hold of God’s wisdom gives us peace that
others cannot understand. We pray to take hold of God’s blessing
of peace. Please pray for our country. With the upcoming election
please call out to God in fervent prayer that our country is not
destroyed. PLEASE VOTE!!!!
29. So, I saw that there is nothing better for a man than to enjoy his work,
because that is his lot. For who can bring him to see what will happen
after him, (Ecclesiastes 3:22). Most of us have worked in situations
that fulfi lled us and worked in times and places we were in turmoil.
We pray that wherever we work we do it for the glory of God…
everything else is foolishness. Please pray for all teachers and for
students and for their safety, may God have mercy on their lives.
30. Daughters of Jerusalem, I charge you by the gazelles and by the does
of the fi eld, do not arouse or awaken love until it so desires, (Song of
Solomon). Feelings aren’t enough to support a lasting relationship.
We must not get the cart before the horse. We pray to wait for
feelings of love and commitment to develop slowly and together.
Please pray for Phil. He continues to have one medical problem
after another. Please pray for his wife and caregiver, Debbie.
31. The eyes of the arrogant man will be humbled, and the pride of men
brought low, the Lord alone will be exalted in that day, (Isaiah 2:11). The
Day of the Lord, Judgment Day, will come to all. A day of judgment
of good and evil. We pray to have accepted Jesus as our Lord and
Savior before that day. Please pray for strength for the weary.
