- Look! It is Solomon’s carriage, escorted by sixty warriors, the noblest
of Israel, all of them wearing the sword, all experienced in battle, each
with his sword at his side, prepared for the terrors of the night, (Song
of Songs 3:7-8). Solomon was well prepared and well-guarded in
readiness of his wedding. We’ll pray to be well prepared in our
work for the Lord. 1-2 The Home Show, Utica, NY, Bill Brown
2. Unless the Lord Almighty had left us some survivors, we would have
become like Sodom, we would have been like Gomorrah, (Isaiah
1:9). In many cases God completely did away with whole groups
of people…but He always left a remnant of His chosen people.
We pray to be among the faithful few that are sold out to the
Lord. Pray for our new administration to be led by the Lord
and obedient to Him.
3. As a thief is disgraced when he is caught, so the house of Israel is
disgraced, they, their kings, and their officials, their priests, and
their prophets (Jeremiah 2:26). Israel forgot God by focusing on
affections and allurements of the world. It became easier and
easier to forget God. We pray to stay focused on God and
depend on His guidance. Please pray for our country…pray for the salvation of many.
4. Like an enemy He has strung His bow, His right hand is ready. Like a
foe He has slain all who were pleasing to the eye, He has poured out
His wrath like fire on the tent of the Daughters of Zion, (Lamentations
2:4-5). The lament of what had happened to Judah and Jerusalem
because of their sinfulness was not pretty. We pray for our lives to
be an offering before God…a sweet-smelling aroma. 4-6 Iowa
AG EXPO, Des Moines, IA, Jeff Goss.
5. On the fifth of the month, it was the fifth year of the exile of King
Jehoiachin, the Word of the Lord came to Ezekiel the priest, the son
of Buzi, by the Kebar River in the land of the Babylonians. There the
hand of the Lord was upon him, (Ezekiel 1:2-3). While in captivity
God reached out and spoke to Ezekiel. We pray to know that
God can use us in any circumstance. Please pray for FCFI and
the teams to go out into the different events to spread the
Gospel News!
6. The great God has shown the king what will take place in the future.
The dream is true and the interpretation is trustworthy. Then King
Nebuchadnezzar fell prostrate before Daniel and paid him honor
and ordered that an offering and incense be presented to him,
(Daniel 2:45-46). The great King Nebuchadnezzar was a non
believer. When Daniel interpreted the king’s dream and gave God
the credit, the king honored both Daniel and God. We pray to give
God the honor of what is going on in our lives. 6-9 Susquehanna
RV Show, Bloomsburg, PA, Michael Steel
7. I will punish her for the days she burned incense to the Baals, she
decked herself with rings and jewelry, and went after her lovers, but Me
she forgot, (Hosea 2:13). The Israelites did not get rid of the people
or the pagan idols and worship centers as commanded by God.
Instead, they joined with the rituals of worship to these heathen
gods. God will not be mocked. We pray to not join ourselves with
the pagan practices of the world. Please pray for our school
teachers as they try to be the Godly influence in the lives of
the children they teach. Please pray for Godly teachers.
8. A nation has invaded my land, powerful and without number. It has
the teeth of a lion, the fangs of a lioness, (Joel1:6). Joel was a little
known prophet calling for Judah to repent before it was too late. The destruction would be like having been attacked by a lion and
lioness. We pray to guard our moral senses and not get dulled
until we become oblivious of sin. Please pray for the homeless
in our country. So many people who have decided to give up
on life. Please pray for direction and guidance in their lives.
9. Now then, I will crush you as a cart crushes, when loaded with grain,
(Amos 3:13). One warning after another from various prophets
and still Israel did not repent and return to their God. How guilty
are we today justifying whatever new fad that comes along. We
pray to be to stand up and stand out for Christ’s sake. Please pray
for our babies and young children as strep, flu, and RSV are
rampant currently.
10. The engulfing waters threatened me, the deep surrounded me,
seaweed was wrapped around my head, (Jonah 2:5). Often, we
feel God has abandoned us to the deep waters of this world. We
pray to remember Jonah and call out to the Lord in our distress.
Please pray for our elderly as flu, pneumonia, and RSV are
making their rounds in our country.
11. They (the leaders of Israel) will cry out to the Lord, but He will not
answer them. At that time, He will hide His face from them because of
the evil they have done, (Micah 3:4). The leaders had no compassion
nor respect for those they were supposed to be serving. Much
like today, they were taking advantage of those whom they were
supposed to be serving. We pray to lead responsibility, whether
or families, our friends or our communities. Please pray for our
leaders, both local and worldwide, to come to Salvation and
make Godly decisions.
12. Where now is the lion’s den, the place where they fed their young,
where the lion and lioness went and the cub, with nothing to fear,
(Nahum 2:11). Now was Nineveh’s time of captivity. The once
powerful city and land was now destroyed. We pray to give our
security to God alone and to live in a way that will not cause us to
be mocked. Please pray for those who are feeling lonely, hurt,
and dismissed.
13. You have plotted the ruin of many peoples shaming your own house and forfeiting your life. The stones of the wall will cry out, and the
beams of the woodwork will echo it, (Habakkuk 2:10-11). Habakkuk
had questioned God as to why He would use a sinful nation to
capture Israel. God is replying, although they will be used, they will
also be judged. We pray to not get hung up on individual events
but to look to God for the big picture of life, trusting His judgement.
Please continue to pray for Freddie. He is home from 6 weeks
in the hospital after stem cell transplant and an infection.
14. Wail, you who live in the market district, all your merchants will be
wiped out, all who trade with silver will be ruined, (Zephaniah 1:11).
Our economy is never stronger than our God. We can see our own
economy failing around us today. We pray to lift our country and
our finances up to our God. 12-15 National Farm Machinery
Show, Louisville, KY, Bill Nichols
15. Therefore, because of you the heavens have withheld their dew and
the earth its crops, (Haggai 1:10). Haggai challenged the remnant
of people who had returned from exile to finish building the
Temple. We pray to listen with open hearts as God’s preachers
challenge us to do a good work. Please pray for Thomas and his
wife of 48 years.
16. Those who are far away will come and help to build the Temple of
the Lord, and you will know that the Lord almighty has sent me
to you. This will happen if you diligently obey the Lord your God,
(Zechariah 6:15). Some of God’s promises are conditional. The
rebuilding of the Temple required obedience. God would protect
the workers as long as they worked on the Temple. We pray to be
diligent in our obedience. Please pray for a friend of Bill and
Kathy Brown’s. She has been diagnosed with a serious and
rare disease.
17. But you profane it (the Lord’s Supper) by saying the Lord’s table is
defiled, and of its food, it is contemptible. And you say, What a
burden! And you sniff at it contemptuously, says the Lord Almighty,
(Malachi 1:12-13). The people began to use the Lord’s Supper as
a time of partying rather than getting their hearts right with God.
God was not pleased at their efforts to appear holy. We pray to
not use rituals as a time to insult God, rather to bless His name. 15-22 National FFA Week. Pray for a revival with all the FFA
Students who hear the gospel at the state conventions where
FCFI has a presence.
18. When they saw the star, they were overjoyed, (Matthew 2:10). The
wise men from the east came to find Jesus. The had followed a
new star which led them to Bethlehem…they were happy to at
long last have found the Messiah. We pray to continually seek the
Lord our God. Please pray for the family of Jane Norman, she
passed recently as the results of Parkinson’s.
19. John (The Baptizer) wore clothing made of camel’s hair, with a leather
belt around his waist, and he ate locusts and wild honey, (Mark 1:6
7). John’s clothing was completely opposite the religious leaders
of his day. His message was new as well. We pray to reach out to
those around us and not be caught up in appearances. Please
pray for this younger group of people who have never had
Godly influence in their lives…pray for mentors as they give
their lives to Christ.
20. When his (Zechariah) time of service (in the Temple) was completed,
he returned home. After this, his wife Elizabeth became pregnant
and for five months remained in seclusion, (Luke 1:23-24). Elizabeth
had been barren for years even though she and Zechariah were
faithful to the Lord. He was waiting until just the right time to
show His glory and blessing upon them. We pray to not give up
on God and to wait for His plan for our lives. 20-22 NY Farm
Show, Syracuse, NY, Bill Brown.
21. Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for
ceremonial washing, each holding from twenty to thirty gallons.
Jesus said to the servants, fill the jars with water, so they filled them
to the brim, (John 2:6-7). The wine gave out at the wedding feast
and Jesus was about to perform His first known miracle. We pray
to come before the throne room of God in great expectation. 21
23 PA Adventure RV EXPO, Altoona, PA, Michael Steele
22. Therefore, it is necessary to choose one of the men who have been
with us the whole time the Lord Jesus went in and out among us,
beginning from John’s baptism to the time when Jesus was taken up from us. For one of these must become a witness with us of His
resurrection, (Acts 1:21-22). After Judas’ betrayal and death, the
disciples were going to include another to make them a group of
twelve again. Peter was giving the qualifications for this man. We
pray to follow the examples given in God’s Word for our spiritual
leaders. 22-23 Strawberry Festival, Live Oak, FL, Bill Brown
23. Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle and set apart for the Gospel of God, the Gospel He promised beforehand through
His prophets in the Scriptures regarding His Son, who as to His
human nature was a descendant of David, and who through the
Spirit of holiness was declared with power to be the Son of God by
His resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord, (Romans 1:1
4). Paul was serious in his portrayal of Jesus as human and Spirit,
Son of God. We pray to accept, by faith, that Jesus was and is
God, come to earth in human form. 21-23 Western Farm Show,
Kansas City, MO, Jeff Goss…22-23 Swamp Cabbage Festival,
LaBelle, FL, Bill Brown
24. I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another so that there may be no divisions
among you and that you may be perfectly united in mind and thought,
(1Corinthians 1:10). As Christians we need to be sure we are united
in God’s love as we move out to share the Gospel. We pray for unity
even as we have different viewpoints. Please pray for Dennis
Hembrough. He needs prayers for someone to help him make
sticks on his property…someone experienced in wood work
and for no injuries while that person is working there.
25. Now this is our boast: Our conscience testifies that we have
conducted ourselves in the world, and especially in our relations with
you, in the holiness and sincerity that are from God. We have done
so not according to worldly wisdom but according to God’s grace,
(2Corinthians 1:12-13). We can have all worldly wisdom and still
be ignorant of God’s Word. Paul knew the importance of holiness
and was speaking to a worldly group from Corinth. We pray to use
our spiritual wisdom to guide our worldly wisdom and not vice
versa. Please pray for those who have been independent and
self-sufficient all their lives and are now facing dependance
on others for healthcare and living facilities.
26. For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any
value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through
love, (Galatians 5:6). We are saved by faith and not by deeds! Much
faith means much love. We pray to express our faith though loving
others. Please pray for the influx of young people and young
families that are hungry for God’s Word and are coming to
our churches looking for something they have never had before.
27. Therefore, remember that formerly you who are Gentiles by birth and
called uncircumcised by those who call themselves the circumcision,
that done in the body by the hands of men, (Ephesians 2:11). God
called for the Jews to be circumcised. This was a thing of pride for
them. After Jesus, Paul is saying Jesus is enough…this thing of
pride is by man’s hands and not by his heart. We pray to accept
Jesus as our Savior and let Him circumcise our hearts. 25-27 Iowa
Hawkeye Farm Show, Cedar Falls, IA, Jeff Goss.
28. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility
consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look
not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others,
(Philippians 2:3-4). Selfish ambition can ruin a person, a friendship,
a church. We are to lay aside selfishness and treat others with
respect and common courtesy. We pray to ask ourselves, WWJD
in all circumstances. 2/28-3/1 Commodity Classic, Orlando, FL,
Dennis Schlagel.
