For many years, FCFI has been ministering at the Northern Navajo Nation Fair in Shiprock, New Mexico, and it seems to become more fruitful with each passing year. This year was especially encouraging, as many young Navajo men listened intently to our message, with numerous individuals praying to receive Christ and showing a genuine hunger for God.
Pastor Robert Tso, who leads Victory Life Church in Shiprock, shared that some of those we ministered to came to his church the Sunday following the fair. It was a joy to see the impact extend beyond the event itself.
Inside the fairgrounds, we set up a booth for ministering and praying for attendees. Pastor Monroe and Helen Cole from Cutting Edge Ministry in Miami, Oklahoma, assisted us, providing valuable pastoral wisdom for those facing significant challenges.
The revival meetings on Thursday and Friday nights were powerful, with many people receiving the Gospel and experiencing prayer. Saturday’s parade drew an estimated 100,000 attendees, and Tim Spruell and I spent five hours walking the parade route, sharing Gospel tracts and ministering to people. This year, we witnessed more individuals praying to receive Christ than in any previous parade at the Shiprock Fair, reflecting a growing spiritual hunger among the Navajo people.
We left Wordless yardsticks and Gospel tracts with local Navajo Christians to continue the evangelism efforts after our departure. It is encouraging to see the groundwork being laid for revival, as many believe that a spiritual awakening in America could begin with Native American communities.
Above report from Jeff Goss, area leader.
We are considering including FFA’ers in our trip next year and will need volunteers to help… Please sign up on our website under missions or call the executive director at 616 676-6684 if you wish to volunteer. We would like to have FFA’ers helping engage local youth in income projects from agriculture. I, the executive director, have studied ancient Navajo desert farming techniques, particularly their deep hole planting technique, and believe we have a lot to learn from the Navajo farmers of the past. And we will be sharing the love of Jesus in practical ways as well as evangelizing and discipling. FCFI volunteers, FFA’ers, and Navajo can join together in advancing God’s kingdom purposes. Christianity can maximize the blessing to the Navajos.
