Farm Progress Show, Boone, IA

DSC_6426DSC_6432This year’s Farm Progress Show was held in Boone, IA.  In alternate years, it is held in Decatur, IL.  Beautiful weather opened the show on Tuesday, August 26, 2014.  The show was cut short, however, as heavy rain greeted exhibitors and guests on Thursday.

The Fellowship of Christian Farmers took their familiar position in the northwest corner of the show grounds, conveniently located near an entrance.  Veteran stick handlers Jeff Mings , Ed Hall, and David Hardwick greeted passers by, offering a walking stick and a story that changes lives.

Rachel Schlagel, daughter of FCFI Executive Director Dennis Schlagel, shared the Gospel with kids and spanish speaking visitors.  Rachel graduated from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago with a degree in Bible Studies.  She will be teaching English as a second language in Spain this fall.  Mike Brehm, right, is a regular at these events, sharing the Gospel with farm show visitors from morning to evening.

Music was provided by Heart Song, and, while they weren’t playing, they were handing out free CDs and sharing the Gospel outside the tent.

Over 3000 Wordless Walking Sticks were handed out, but, more importantly, the Gospel of Jesus Christ was shared with over 3000 people at the Farm Progress Show.
