Executive Director Travels to Georgia

FCFI group Dan met with in Georgia, Alvaro Soria, Becky & Walter Powell, Dan Janzen, Mary Jones

At the beginning of August, FCFI Executive Director Dan set out on a long trip south, making many important stops along the way and reaching as far as northern Florida. The journey proved to be a rich time of ministry connections, encouragement, and partnership building.

Farming God’s Way Training – Indianapolis

One of the highlights of Dan’s trip was spending a day at the Farming God’s Way (FGW) training program just north of Indianapolis. Dan had completed this training shortly after returning from the mission field two years ago, and the opening day has since grown into a full agricultural missions conference.

FCFI was well represented with a display table that drew many visitors. Several ministry leaders stopped to exchange business cards and request more information, while potential volunteers expressed interest in serving alongside FCFI. It was a time of fruitful networking and fellowship with others passionate about using agriculture as a tool for the Gospel.

Building Partnerships in Georgia and Florida

Continuing south, Dan reconnected with Johann Van der Ham, a friend he first met in Malawi. Johann serves in agricultural development and financial training with Crown Financial. Their renewed connection opened doors for fresh opportunities in ministry collaboration.

Dan also visited friends and partners in Georgia and northern Florida who are actively involved in FCFI’s mission. Along the way, he met with:

Another highlight was a visit to The Mailbox Club, a discipleship ministry that partners with FCFI to help children grow in their faith. This program is an important follow-up for children who hear the Gospel at fairs and festivals.

Preparing the Next Generation of Missionaries at Team Expansion in Louisville, Kentucky

On his return trip, Dan met with Ron Friesen of Team Expansion, a new friend he had met during the FGW program. Ron is leading the development of a Global Village training center, which will feature agricultural demonstrations and traditional houses from around the world. It is being designed to help missionaries and volunteers prepare for cross-cultural service. He extended an invitation for FCFI volunteers to participate in this exciting project.

Moving Forward in Mission

Dan’s travels through Georgia and beyond highlighted the importance of relationships, partnerships, and shared vision in advancing the mission of FCFI. From encouraging seasoned leaders to welcoming new volunteers, this journey underscored how God continues to open doors for ministry through agriculture and discipleship.
