The Fellowship of Christian Farmers met Pastor Justin Leavens at the Organic Growers Summit in Monterey, California, in December. He has become a new strategic friend and partner in California as Fellowship of Christian Farmers expands its ministry to the west coast. Justin explains that in today’s fast-moving digital world, information spreads faster than ever—and with it, both truth and deception. Justin, one of our brothers in the faith, recently shared a powerful reflection on how this landscape is shaping the hearts and minds of young people.
Artificial intelligence and digital tools have opened doors for rapid learning. As Justin observed, new believers—especially young people—can become well-versed in theology in less than six months. Access to biblical resources, commentaries, and teachings is now literally at their fingertips. Yet, this same environment makes it more crucial than ever for them to discern truth from lies.
Many of the youth today carry deep wounds. They have been misled through the haze of drugs and alcohol. Some have suffered abandonment, abuse, and the pain of broken family relationships. Others have turned to Eastern religions, human philosophies, and worldviews that ultimately left them empty. With so many voices shaping their identity and beliefs, they are desperately searching for something real.
What they long for is truth—uncompromised and unchanging.
And this is where the gospel stands apart. When we present the truth of God’s Word plainly and lovingly, something stirs in their hearts. Justin reminds us that “there’s nothing more truthful than being reasonable.” Scripture itself tells us, “Let your reasonableness be known to everyone” (Philippians 4:5). Reasonableness is not weakness; it is the gentle, steady work of reasoning with others—meeting them where they are and guiding them toward the light.
One powerful way to do this is through Scripture’s explanation of creation. Justin encourages us to start at Romans 1:18. Here, Paul reveals that God’s invisible qualities—His eternal power and divine nature—are clearly seen in the world He made. When we help young people observe the beauty, order, and intentional design of life, they begin to see that there is a perfect Designer behind it all.
And that Designer is Jesus Christ.
With clarity, compassion, and biblical truth, we can guide this generation from confusion to conviction—helping them recognize the One who created them, loves them, and calls them by name.
