A Conversation That Opened the Door to Faith – by Julia Larson

At the Iowa FFA State Convention, Julia Larson and a friend stopped by a booth where they met Glenn Schuler. What began as a casual visit quickly turned into a meaningful conversation about faith, centered on the Gospel message shared through a simple bracelet illustration. Julia described the approach as “so refreshing,” noting how naturally it helped explain spiritual truth.

As a born-again believer, Julia had been praying for an opportunity to talk with her friend about faith but had not found the right moment. In God’s timing, this encounter created the opening she had been hoping for.

Moved by the clarity and simplicity of the message, Julia was able to continue the conversation more personally with her friend. Her friend, who had some church background through attending a Methodist congregation with her grandmother, began to realize she had never truly understood the meaning of salvation or what it means to have a personal relationship with Christ.

The discussion sparked sincere curiosity, and the two friends continued talking beyond the booth visit. Since then, both have expressed a desire, Lord willing, to begin a Bible study together in order to further explore the Gospel and grow in understanding.

Julia shared her deep appreciation for Glenn Schuler’s willingness to engage openly and clearly. She noted that his simple yet intentional approach became a key moment that helped open the door for what she hopes will be an ongoing spiritual journey with her friend.
