Help Restore Fairview Baptist Bible College in Jamaica

Join Fellowship of Christian Farmers International in helping rebuild a place dedicated to preparing men and women for Christian ministry.

When Hurricane Melissa, a historic Category 5 storm, struck Jamaica on October 28, 2025, it left widespread destruction across the island. Homes were damaged or destroyed, crops were flattened, landslides disrupted communities, and severe flooding affected coastal areas. Power and communication services were knocked out across large areas, while debris blocked roads and isolated communities.

Among the institutions severely affected was Fairview Baptist Bible College (FBBC), a Christian college dedicated to preparing men and women to serve God through local church ministry and missions.

The hurricane caused significant damage to every major structure on the college’s campus, forcing the school to close its doors. The college hopes to reopen within three years, but substantial repairs and financial support are needed to make that possible.

FCFI Returns to Jamaica to Help Rebuild

The Fellowship of Christian Farmers International (FCFI) began responding to the disaster shortly after the airports reopened. From November 5–8, 2025, FCFI Disaster Relief volunteers traveled to Jamaica to distribute limited critical supplies and assess locations for future ministry opportunities.

Since then, FCFI has continued communicating with local partners, raising funds, and organizing opportunities for volunteers to return and help rebuild.

In January 29–February 9, 2026, twenty-three FCFI Disaster Relief volunteers returned to Jamaica and helped rebuild three churches in St. Elizabeth Parish.

The next opportunity will take place November 12–22, 2026, at Fairview Baptist Bible College. FCFI volunteers will focus primarily on restoring the damaged male dormitory, helping the college take an important step toward reopening.

Rebuilding the Male Dormitory

The construction team will focus on removing debris, dismantling damaged materials, and rebuilding portions of the male dormitory. Additional work may include installing metal support beams, repairing and pouring concrete, and installing wall and floor tiles.

The team will also identify other repair opportunities as time, materials, and available funding allow.

Eighteen construction volunteers are being organized for this mission, bringing their own personal construction tools because the college has limited equipment available on site. Their combined skills and labor will help accomplish as much restoration work as possible during the trip.

The estimated cost of repairs for the male dormitory, including materials and labor, is approximately $125,620 USD. The construction materials estimate for the initial project alone is approximately $14,000 USD.

Your Support Can Make More Restoration Possible

FCFI has already committed $20,000 toward construction materials for this project. However, additional financial support is needed to help complete the planned work and address other areas of damage across the campus.

The more funding available, the more repairs the volunteers can accomplish during their time at Fairview. Additional donations can help provide construction materials and supplies, allowing the team to extend its efforts beyond the initial work on the dormitory.

This is more than repairing a building. Fairview Baptist Bible College has spent decades preparing men and women for ministry in Jamaica, throughout the Caribbean, and around the world. Restoring its facilities means helping preserve a place where future pastors, church leaders, and missionaries can be equipped to serve.

Would you prayerfully consider making an additional gift to help restore Fairview Baptist Bible College?

Every contribution can help move this restoration forward and bring the college one step closer to welcoming students again.

Together, we can help rebuild not only damaged facilities but also an important place of Christian training and ministry.
