Volunteers Come Together for a Successful Walking Stick Workday

A tremendous team effort took place July 7–9 at Pilgrim Holiness Church in Marcy, New York, as volunteers gathered for three days of preparing Gospel-sharing materials for upcoming community events.

The Walking Stick Workdays were a great success, with 50–60 volunteers showing up each day to help with the work. Together, they completed an impressive 22,500 walking sticks, which will be used at future outreach events to help introduce people to God’s Word. In addition, thousands of colorful beads and cords were prepared for both bracelets and sticks, ensuring that volunteers have plenty of materials ready for upcoming opportunities to share the Gospel.

There was plenty of activity throughout the three days, with volunteers working both inside the church Fellowship Hall and outside under the tents. Everyone had a part to play, from preparing beads and cords to assembling the walking sticks. It was encouraging to see people of different ages working side by side toward the same purpose.

Volunteers work under the tents, preparing and assembling walking sticks for upcoming FCFI outreach events. Their teamwork and dedication helped make thousands of Gospel-sharing tools ready for distribution.

A special thank-you goes to James and Jimmy D’Armond for providing the loader tractor, and to Don Humphreys for operating it. Their help made the preparation work easier and contributed to the success of the workdays.

What a blessing to see so many people come together with willing hearts and helping hands! The 22,500 completed walking sticks and thousands of prepared handout materials represent countless opportunities ahead to connect with people and share the Good News of Jesus Christ.

We are grateful to every volunteer who gave their time and energy to make these workdays possible. Their teamwork and dedication are helping prepare the way for future outreach throughout the region.
