
- “Therefore, since through God’s mercy we have this ministry, (Christ) we do not lose heart,” (2 Cor. 4:1).
As Christians, all of us have a ministry. Anyone who talks about Jesus must remember that they stand in God’s presence. We pray we will be diligent in staying true to God’s Word as we reach, teach and preach.
Please pray for Mary Beth, Kay and Sandra as they struggle with vision problems and thus losing independence. - “I want you to know, Brothers, that the Gospel I preached is not something man made up. I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ,” (Galatians 1:11-12).
Paul states he is called by God for his ministry. We pray our ministry will always be backed up by the Word of God.
Please pray for the Collier family. Marc suddenly passed. He was a fine young man in the education field. He mentored many young people through the years. His family and community are in shock and mourning him greatly. - “For this reason, I kneel before the Father, from whom His whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name,” (Ephesians 3:14-15).
The family of God includes all past, present, and future believers. We all have the same Father; we are family. We pray we remember all believers don’t look, sound or even smell the same.
3-5 Alabama FFA State Convention, Bill Nichols - “But He has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in His sight,” (Colossians 1:22).
The way to be free from sin is to trust Jesus Christ to take it away. When God forgives our sins, our record is wiped clean. We pray for all who are not believers to come to the saving grace of Jesus.
Please pray for Judy. She has several health issues. - “You welcomed the message with joy given by the Holy Spirit,” (1 Thessalonians 1:6).
The Thessalonians received Christ freely and with joy. We pray as we spread the Word through the walking stick ministry people will receive Christ with joy and be set free.
Please pray for Margie. She is having trouble standing and walking and is going to multiple doctors. - “Yet do not regard him as an enemy, but warn him as a brother,” (2 Thessalonians 3:15).
Paul was not advising coldness or cruelty in disciplining others but a kind of tough love. We pray we will confront to restore and no more.
6-7 Violet Festival, Dolgeville, NY, Bill Brown - “The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus,” (1 Timothy 1:14).
Paul confessed his ignorance in persecuting fellow believers before he was saved. He also asserted his confidence in Christ forgiving him. We pray our faith and love will grow as our relationship with Jesus deepens.
Please give a shout of praise for the wonderful rains in South Georgia, thus helping contain the devastating wildfires here. - “For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love, and of self-discipline,” (2 Timothy 1:7).
Timothy was experiencing great opposition as a leader, but Paul urged him to be bold. We pray we will not let people intimidate us and neutralize our effectiveness for God.
8-10 Virginia FFA State Convention, Steeles - “For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men,” (Titus 2:11).
Not to a select few has grace appeared, but to all mankind. We pray to be diligent in spreading the Good News of Christ to others.
Please pray for Rod that he will see his need for God’s grace and forgiveness and give his life to Christ.
9-11 Kentucky FFA State Convention, Bill Nichols - “Formerly he was useless to you, but now he has become useful both to you and to me,” (Philemon 11).
Onesimus was a runaway slave who had become a Christian. Paul was asking and not commanding Philemon to accept him back as a brother in Christ. We pray for all who are running from God’s love and forgiveness.
Please pray for Lyn and also give a shout of praise. He has heart issues and had a procedure that seems to be working! - “The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His being, sustaining all things by His powerful Word,” (Hebrews 1:3).
God can and will forgive us if we come to Him through His Son, Jesus. The same power that created the universe is personal enough to forgive our sins on a one-on-one basis. We pray to remember Jesus loves us and longs to forgive us.
Please pray for Nanette as she recovers from surgery. - “But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure, then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere,” (James 3:17).
Seeking God’s wisdom delivers us from the need to compare ourselves to others and to want what they have. We pray to set our sights on Christ and let the things of this world not control us.
13 Branford Festival, Branford, CT, Bill Brown - “Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy and slander of every kind,” (1 Peter 2:1).
We must stop grasping the temporary, and begin focusing our time, money, and energy on the permanent—the Word of God and our eternal life in Christ. We pray for a Christ-centered vision of life.
13-14 Old Home Days Celebration, Ames, NY, Bill Brown - “But grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ,” (2 Peter 3:18).
The sinful world will always challenge our faith. We have much to learn and much room to grow. We pray we find some way every day to grow closer to Christ.
Today is Flag Day! It commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States on June 14, 1777.
“I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”
Please pray for Mary Dale’s family. She went from taking care of others to having two heart attacks to passing in a short time. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. - “But His anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit,” (1 John 2:27).
Christ lives in us as believers through the Holy Spirit. As we listen to His voice through His Word, we are able to know the lies of Satan when we hear them. We pray for eyes to see and ears to hear God’s voice over the rumble of the evil one.
15-17 Indiana State Convention - “As you have heard from the beginning, His command is that you walk in love,” (2 John 6).
We must do more than talk the talk; we must walk the walk in love. We pray to be good listeners so we can follow up by being good doers.
15-19 Florida FFA State Convention, Orlando, Singers - “Dear friend, do not imitate what is evil but what is good,” (3 John 11).
Diotrephes loved to control the church. In doing so, he often did evil and not good. We pray we will know and understand God’s Word and seek His will through much prayer.
16-17 South Carolina FFA State Convention, Jeff Goss - “The Lord delivered His people out of Egypt, but later destroyed those who did not believe,” (Jude 5).
Rebellion brings discord. Jude reminds us the children of Israel refused to trust God and enter the promised land. We pray to follow God’s guidelines in such a way that love and harmony abound.
17-19 Wisconsin FFA State Convention, Scott Fischer - “To Him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by His blood,” (Revelation 1:5).
Christ demonstrated His great love by setting us free from our sins through His death on the cross. We pray we will be ever diligent in sharing that love with others.
20 Strawberry Festival, Owego, NY, Bill Brown - “My Spirit will not contend with man forever,” (Genesis 6:3).
We must turn to God for forgiveness of our sins. We cannot see the stopwatch of God’s patience. We pray thanking God for His great patience with us. He gives us time to quit living our way and begin living His way. Praise the Lord!
20 Farmer’s Market, Syracuse, NY, Bill Brown - “So now, go, I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt,” (Exodus 3:10).
Moses made all kinds of excuses not to be used. God often calls us to tasks that seem too difficult, but He doesn’t ask us to do them alone. We pray we will allow God to use us and our unique contributions to His kingdom’s work and glory.
Happy First Day of Summer!! Fathers are the backbone of society. Sadly, many fathers are absent in the lives of their families today. We pray for good, Godly men to step up into their place as leader of the family. We pray for husbands to love their wives as themselves. We pray for fathers to understand their importance in the lives of their children. We pray for fathers who will discipline with love. We pray for families, women and children who will accept and build up the husband/father in their home. Happy Father’s Day.
Nutmeg Truck Show, Brooklyn, CT, Bill Brown - “How beautiful are your tents, O Jacob, your dwelling places, O Israel!” (Numbers 24:5).
Balaam gave his oracle as the Spirit of God came upon him. We pray for the Spirit of God to so fill us we will give our oracle to Him day and night! - “Since then no prophet has risen in Israel like Moses,” (Deuteronomy 34:10).
Moses, the man who didn’t want to go to Egypt because he was slow to speak, gave three addresses to Israel that make up the book of Deuteronomy. God equips us as we allow Him to. We pray to be open to God’s Spirit to use us in ways we might not be comfortable with.
23-25 North Carolina FFA State Convention, Jeff Goss - “Now fear the Lord and serve Him with all faithfulness,” (Joshua 24:14).
God reminded the people of Israel that He had delivered them and protected them and given them blessings. All He asked in return was their faithfulness. We pray to be ever grateful for the lessons and the blessings of life.
Please pray for Joseph’s church in Kenya. They have had to move suddenly and have no place to meet. Pray a building opens for their meeting place. - “But Gideon told them, ‘I will not rule over you, nor will my son rule over you. The Lord will rule over you,’” (Judges 8:23).
Gideon had gone to battle and won a great victory and the people wanted to reward him. Gideon, however, had not lost sight of the importance of putting God first. We pray to remember, as Gideon is our example, to let God rule our hearts and lives.
Please pray for Jules’ sister. She is in lots of pain and is believed to have cancer. They are in Rwanda. - “So, Boaz took Ruth and she became his wife. Then he went to her, and the Lord enabled her to conceive, and she gave birth to a son,” (Ruth 4:13).
Ruth, a Moabite woman, was used by God in the lineage of Jesus. She was faithful and true. Her son was Obed, the father of Jesse, the father of King David. We pray for strength to live a life for God that is faithful and true.
Please continue to pray for Cathy as she recovers from shoulder surgery. - “So, in the course of time, Hannah conceived and gave birth to a son. She named him Samuel, saying, ‘Because I asked the Lord for him,’” (1 Samuel 1:20).
Hannah prayed year after year for a son. Her husband gave offerings year after year for her. God heard her prayers and gave her a son. We pray for diligence, in the face of all odds, to remember God’s faithfulness!!
Please join Pastor John in prayer for India, for the salvation of many. - “The Lord bless you for showing this kindness to Saul, your master, by burying him,” (2 Samuel 2:5).
Saul and Jonathan were killed in battle. A king’s head was a great trophy for the opposing king to show off. The men of Jabesh Gilead risked their lives to rescue Saul’s body and bury it because David had helped them in earlier troubles. We pray to extend kindness to those in need and accept kindness from others when we are in need.
Please pray for the Upson family. Grandson Teddy has a rare form of cancer and is in treatment. Roy’s sister, Ethyl, has stage 4 cancer. - “So, give Your servant a discerning heart,” (1 Kings 3:9).
God came to Solomon and told him to ask for what he wanted. Solomon asked for wisdom to lead God’s chosen people. We pray for wisdom and discernment in all our decisions.
Please pray for all farmers as they go into the planting and growing season. - “Your servant has nothing there at all, she said, except a little oil,” (2 Kings 4:2).
The widow understood that Elisha was God’s man and asked for his help. He told her to collect jars from her neighbors. She poured the oil from her jar into the jars she had collected. The oil didn’t run out until the last jar was filled. We pray not to limit God by our little faith. As we hold up jars, so will He fill them.
Please pray for our country, the USA, as we are in great need of a spiritual awakening, and also for the world as a whole.
