
- The Lord moved the heart of Cyrus, king of Persia (Ezra 1:1).
48 years after Nebuchadnezzar destroyed Jerusalem and looted the Temple, God moved the heart of King Cyrus to let the Jews return home. This was a day of new hope for the Jews. We pray we will start each day fresh with the hope of Jesus making each day new. That we will allow God to move our hearts for His good.
Please pray for Cathy as she heals from shoulder surgery. - And all who had returned from the captivity to Jerusalem began the work (Ezra 3:8).
First the people took time to rest from the long dangerous journey back home, then they took time to make plans because this work was important to them. We pray for patience to remember that preparation may not feel spiritual, but it is vital to any project meant to be done well.
Please pray for Jim. He has multiple health issues. - The king granted him (Ezra) everything he asked, for the hand of the Lord his God was on him (Ezra 7:6).
Eighty years after the first exiles had returned to Jerusalem, Ezra led a large group back home. He had the king’s blessing as a passport for the move. We pray as we prepare to do God’s work we will seek Him first and go through the proper channels to avoid confusion.
May 3–4 — Oklahoma FFA State Convention, Jeff Goss - Oh Lord, let Your ear be attentive to the prayer of this Your servant and to the prayer of Your servants who delight in revering Your name (Nehemiah 1:10).
Nehemiah was the cupbearer for the king and used his position to approach the king on behalf of the people of Israel. We pray we will be found faithful today and every day, calling out to God in praise, petition, and giving of ourselves to the work ahead.
Please pray for those ravaged by wildfires in South Georgia. Over 100 homes and businesses destroyed. - “And if I perish, I perish.” (Esther 4:16)
Esther and her maids fasted and prayed for three days before she approached King Xerxes, fearing for her life. God heard her prayers and she saved the Jews in the land by giving them a fighting chance. We pray for strength and courage to do the right thing.
Please pray for drought-ending rain in Georgia and surrounding states. - Let love and faithfulness never leave you (Proverbs 3:3).
Proverbs is full of one-sentence sermons. We pray to be found living our lives in love and faithfulness.
Please pray for Beth. Since October she has gradually lost the ability to walk… multiple doctors, tests, and exams have revealed nothing. - What does man gain from all his labor at which he toils under the sun (Ecclesiastes 1:3)?
Solomon presents a bleak picture of life unless we understand truth. We pray to find that true satisfaction comes from knowing what we are doing is part of God’s purpose for our lives.
Please pray for Nath and Emilee. Their pregnancy ended in miscarriage. - I slept but my heart was awake (Song of Solomon 5:2).
Life is full of ups and downs from frivolous to serious. Sometimes sleep is the only relief from our problems. We pray that even in times of trouble our heart will be awake to discern God’s will.
Please pray for our farmers in the South. They cannot get in the fields because of severe drought to plant crops. - “Woe to me!” I cried, “I am ruined!…” (Isaiah 6:5)
The more clearly Isaiah saw God, the more he became aware of his own inadequacy. His confessions cleared the way for God to use him mightily. We pray to be in a constant state of confession, repentance, and renewal.
Please pray for Diana. She is having heart issues. - Let everything that has breath praise the Lord (Psalm 150:6).
In a way, Psalms parallels our spiritual journey. Even as we face blessings and troubles, joy and grief, successes and obstacles, God is always guiding, encouraging, comforting, and loving us. We pray for a heart of thanksgiving and praise.
Please pray for all mothers past, present, and future… for women longing for children, grieving loss, estranged from children, or walking difficult roads. May today be a time of rejoicing, renewal, and hope for the future. HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!! - Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past (Isaiah 43:15).
A forward-looking hopefulness is set in motion by forgiveness of the past, giving us hope for the future. We pray to be more loving and forgiving as God has loved and forgiven us.
Please pray for Jules’ sister in Rwanda. Doctors believe she has breast cancer, and they also need basic necessities. - Let him who boasts, boast about this: that he understands and knows Me (Jeremiah 9:24).
People admire wisdom, power, kindness, and riches. But God places higher priority on knowing Him personally and living a life that reflects this. We pray our light shines to reflect God’s glory and not our own.
Daryl asks prayer for his wife, Mary Beth, for healing of her eyes. - When your words came, I ate them; they were a joy and my heart’s delight (Jeremiah 15:16).
Jeremiah accused God of not helping him when he needed it. God answered by rearranging Jeremiah’s priorities. We pray to keep our eyes on God’s purposes and influence others for good.
Please pray for Cole. He is awaiting test results to see if he has cancer. - Before I formed you in the womb I knew you (Jeremiah 1:5).
It is comforting to know God planned for us long before we were thought of by human hearts. We pray for hearts to see God’s goodness in our lives.
May 14–16 — New York FFA State Convention, Bill Brown - You must speak My words to them, whether they listen or fail to listen (Ezekiel 2:7).
God gave Ezekiel a difficult task of sharing truth with an ungrateful people. He gives us the same responsibility. We pray each walking stick shared will represent the Gospel reaching souls.
Pray for missionaries worldwide.
May 14–16 — Washington FFA State Convention, Jeff Goss - I will plant Israel in their own land… never again to be uprooted (Amos 9:15).
God’s love brought revival to His people. We pray to let God’s Word inspire faithful living.
Please give a shout of Hallelujah for Mary’s good results from the surgeon. - But Jonah ran away from the Lord and headed for Tarshish (Jonah 1:3).
Jonah learned no one can run from God. We pray to understand we cannot seek God’s love while running from Him.

May 17 — Upstate NY Outdoorsman EXPO, Bill Brown Team - To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God (Micah 6:8).
As we walk in obedience, we produce inner humility. We pray for a humble heart before God our Creator.
May 17–18 — Renaissance Festival, Holland Patent, NY, Bill Brown - The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble (Nahum 1:7).
God’s love is a refuge supplying all our needs. We pray for a relationship where we run to God and feel His loving embrace.
Please pray for the Foster family after a near tragedy. - For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord (Habakkuk 2:14).
Habakkuk learned God hates sin more than we do and will rule. We pray for patience as God works His greater purpose.
Please pray for a new office manager for FCFI. - The Lord your God is with you, He is mighty to save (Zephaniah 3:17).
A message of doom becomes hope. We pray to live in the Great Hope of Jesus Christ.
Please pray for all new graduates entering the next phase of life. - This is what I covenanted with you… Do not fear (Haggai 2:5).
God assured His people they were not forgotten. We have that same assurance. We pray for freedom from sin and fear.
Please pray for our President. - And I Myself will be a wall of fire around it (Zechariah 2:5).
God reassured Zechariah He would care for His people. We pray for obedience to God’s Word and ways.
Please pray for our pastors and God’s anointing on them. - Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse (Malachi 3:10).
We pray to give as an opportunity, not an expense. May we have a giver’s heart.

We pray to receive Jesus fully and walk in renewed attitudes, desires, and motives.
Pray for world leaders and for spiritual revival worldwide. - They all joined together constantly in prayer (Acts 1:14).
We pray our prayers rise as a sweet-smelling aroma to the Lord.

Pray for God’s anointing on FCFI leaders. - For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things (Romans 11:36).
We pray to know God so intimately we praise Him in everything.
Pray for our nation to turn back to God and for young people to help carry the FCFI banner forward. - Though I am free and belong to no man, I make myself a slave to everyone (1 Corinthians 9:19).
Christian life involves both freedom and discipline. We pray our actions glorify God and bring people to Christ.
Please pray for FCFI leaders reaching people with walking sticks, and for daily renewal for seasoned Christians—that we will not grow weary in well doing.
