We’re excited to welcome Mark Swanson as our guest speaker for our upcoming Zoom Fellowship and Prayer Meeting.
Mark brings a unique blend of pastoral ministry, agricultural mission, and firsthand experience in building partnerships that address global hunger through faith in action. As a former pastor serving churches in South Dakota and Washington, he has seen how local churches and rural communities can play a meaningful role in God’s work around the world.
Through his leadership with Growing Hope Globally, Mark helps connect Christians in the U.S. with smallholder farmers in developing nations—supporting practical, appropriate technology solutions that strengthen families, expand food production and subsequent income, and increase opportunities for them to participate in the Great Commission.
Mark and his family live in Decorah, Iowa and we are grateful to have him join us to share this encouraging ministry.
During our time together, Mark will share about:
- The roots and vision of Growing Hope Globally and how the ministry began
- How churches and rural communities are responding to global hunger through partnership and generosity
- Stories of impact from farming communities around the world and across the United States
- How agricultural ministry can open doors for transformation, discipleship, and community development
- Ways ordinary believers can be part of making an extraordinary difference
This will be a meaningful opportunity to discuss how we as Fellowship of Christian Farmer, Intl. can partner with Growing Hope Globally.
Here are some areas where our initiatives “might” overlap that we need to discuss with Mark:
- Training in agricultural skills globally
- Asset-based community development (excellence in stewardship of local resources or opportunities)
- Volunteer mobilization can be done synchronously to address global needs
- Urban youth farming/gardens coordinated with FFA and including discipleship in Chicago and St. Louis
- Centering all agriculture to maximize missional impact through the Great Commission (making disciples and teaching everyone what Jesus taught us)
- Working together on Farm Genius-Assistant
- Let’s champion your vision or your ideas and network them together with our volunteers and Growing Hope
