Area Leader Jeff Goss with his daughter who helped with evangelism
Among the many FFA conventions I’ve had the privilege of attending over the years, this recent gathering in California stands out in a very special way. It wasn’t just another event—it was a moment where we clearly saw God at work in the hearts of people.
Throughout the convention, there was a noticeable spiritual hunger among those we encountered. Conversations went beyond casual interest and opened doors to deeper discussions about faith, purpose, and eternity. We were blessed to witness several individuals make decisions for Christ, each one a powerful reminder of why this ministry matters.
One of the most encouraging aspects of the event was the strong response from those interested in getting involved with FCFI. Around 15 individuals filled out response cards, expressing their desire to stay connected and learn more. Many of them were from Hispanic backgrounds, highlighting an important and growing opportunity to reach communities that are eager and open. It was clear to us that this is truly a ripe harvest field—one where hearts are ready and waiting.

Moments like these remind us that the need is great, but so is the opportunity. When people are willing to listen, ask questions, and take steps forward in faith, it reinforces the importance of being present and available to share the message of hope.
On a personal note, this experience was made even more meaningful by the presence of my daughter. She made the effort to drive up from San Diego and stayed with me throughout the entire convention. Not only was her company a great encouragement, but she also took on the role of driving me around, allowing me to focus fully on the ministry. Her support was a tremendous blessing and a beautiful picture of serving alongside family.

As we reflect on this time, we are filled with gratitude for all that God has done and continues to do. The seeds that were planted during this convention have the potential to grow in ways we may not yet see. We are trusting that the Lord will continue to work in the lives of those who responded and that this will only be the beginning of something greater.
Indeed, the harvest is plentiful—and we are thankful to be part of the work.
