I recently had the joy of ministering at the Sioux Falls, SD; Des Moines, IA; Louisville, KY; and Kansas City, MO farm shows. Across all these events, the biggest highlight was the large numbers of FFA students who came to our booths eager to hear the Gospel.
One man shared with me that he has attended the Western Farm Show in Kansas City for the past 10–15 years just to watch me minister to these kids. He was amazed by how attentive the students were, listening intently the entire time.
The impact goes beyond that initial encounter. Many of these students pray with us to receive Jesus, and some return a year later to share that they are attending church and still following the Lord. Parents have even called to say their children returned home “on fire for God” after visiting our booth.
One particularly moving moment was in Kansas City when I led a group of four FFA girls to the Lord. One of the girls was so touched that she began crying uncontrollably, and soon we all were teary-eyed together. The presence of God was truly tangible. On FFA Day at the Western Farm Show, students kept pouring into our booth for hours to hear the Gospel. God gave us supernatural strength to minister long and hard, and we witnessed His power move in remarkable ways.
Even the big, skeptical farm boys—muscular and hesitant at first—prayed the sinner’s prayer with me and were visibly touched by God’s presence. Time and again, we saw young lives transformed from darkness into light right before our eyes.
At the Des Moines show, a young girl approached our booth with a deep hunger for God. She had recently had a dream about Jesus but had never received Him. I led her in the sinner’s prayer, and she is now eager to get involved with FCFI in some way.
Seeing God move so powerfully among these FFA students has filled me with even more anticipation for the upcoming FFA state conventions. Please join me in praying for a continual move of God among these young people, that many more hearts will be touched and lives transformed.
