Operation Jamaica Disaster Relief

When Hurricane Melissa tore across Jamaica on October 28, 2025, it left behind a level of destruction the nation had never experienced. As a Category 5 storm—the most powerful ever recorded on the island—it devastated entire communities. Houses were reduced to rubble, farmland was wiped out, and widespread flooding and landslides cut off access to already vulnerable areas. Utilities failed, roads became impassable, and many businesses were forced to shut their doors indefinitely.

FCFI Takes Action

In the face of overwhelming need, the Fellowship of Christian Farmers International (FCFI) stepped forward without hesitation. With a mission rooted in sharing the Gospel and expressing Christ’s compassion in tangible ways, the organization committed itself to walking alongside the people of Saint Elizabeth Parish during this critical time.

If you would like to join a followup team contact Dan Janzen at dan@fcfi.org. We are considering going the last two weeks in April. We are interested in all different skills.

On the next trip, in addition to the reconstruction of churches, we will also work to establish tree nurseries and subsequent orchards with vulnerable people for resilience, particularly widows.
