God’s Word Reaches a New Heart at the 2025 Organic Growers Summit – by Terry Morrison

The 2025 Northern California Organic Growers Summit recently took place in Monterey, California, bringing together Christian farmers for a two-day event at the Hyatt Hotel. The summit provided a platform not only for others to share agricultural knowledge but also Fellowship of Christian Farmers to minister the Gospel, with opportunities to connect with attendees both in the exhibit hall at our FCFI booth and in the ballroom.

One particularly meaningful encounter occurred when Terry Morrison shared the Gospel with Elliott, a 20-year-old college student visiting the booth. Elliott had previously been involved in FFA (Future Farmers of America) in high school and was naturally drawn to the booth by photographs and displays of FFA students. Though he was curious about religion, he had little exposure to Christian teachings and had not yet made a personal commitment to Christ.

Using a wordless bracelet, which represents the story of the Gospel through different colored beads, Terry carefully explained the message of salvation. Each bead symbolized an important part of God’s plan for humanity, allowing Elliott to understand the Gospel visually and interactively. As the conversation progressed, Elliott listened attentively and asked thoughtful questions, showing genuine interest in learning more about faith.

At the conclusion of the discussion, Elliott chose to pray and confess Jesus as Lord and Savior, guided by Romans 10:9–10, which says, “If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” This marked a pivotal moment in his spiritual journey.

Following this decision, Terry provided guidance on how Elliott could nurture his faith, including spending time in prayer, studying Scripture, and seeking ongoing fellowship and mentorship. This additional support ensures that new believers like Elliott can grow in their relationship with God and integrate their faith into daily life.

This encounter highlights the profound impact that intentional outreach at events like the Organic Growers Summit can have. It serves as a reminder that investing in outreach at events that draw the public, in this case, a farm show, can lead to life-changing spiritual decisions and the growth of God’s Kingdom.
