28th Annual FCFI Conference
The Fellowship of Christian Farmers, International held its 28th Annual Conference at the Redeeming Love Fellowship Church in Stittville, New York July 23-25, 2021. Area Leader Bill Brown hosted the event, with several of his close friends taking care of the many meals served at the church.
I (Jerry Druhan, Media Director) decided that if I am riding for 800+ miles (2000+ round trip), I want to see the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY. It was about an hour’s drive from the conference, but well worth the trip. This is a must see for baseball fans. Friday day trip included a car pool tour of Porterdale Farms, Adams Center, NY, Maple Museum in Croghan, NY, and a quick stop at the Croghan Meat Market.
Executive Director Dennis Schlagel did his usual great job as Master of Ceremonies. There is no one that knows more about the Fellowship of Christian Farmers than Dennis. He always has great stories to tell.
Greg Porter, Porterdale Farms, gave a stirring testamony of a horrific farm accident, where he was bumped and fell under a loaded cattle trailer, suffering a crushed pelvis, many broken ribs, and other injuries. His emotional recollection of that day, and the weeks and months to follow is one of faith and miracles.

Four workshops were presented at the conference. “Igniting Your Faith” was presented by FCFI Prayer Coordinator Mary Jones. A fieldmen roundtable discussion entitled “Is God Calling You to Something More?” by Steve and Chris Brown and Roy and Cathy Upson. After lunch, Dr. Paul Davidson presented a workshop on Financial Accountability. Area Leaders Jeff Goss and Mike Weaver presented “Sharing Your Faith Using the Colored Bead Story.”
Board member and auctioneer Bob Carpenter was sorely missed this year at the annual conference auction. Bob went home to be with the Lord earlier this year.
Conference speakers this year included Cliff Kitchen, MHV Chapter President, Executive Director Dennis Schlagel, Area Leader Mike Weaver, Area Leader Jeff Goss, Mic Sokoloff, Laurie Bedford, Greg and Lisa Porter, Board President CP Foster, Ed Westfall, MHV Chapter VP, and Keynote Speaker Rev. Dana Spurgeon.
Well, there you have it. I may not have covered every minute of the conference, but this is a highlight reel. More coming soon, as video is being edited and assembled. As always, thanks to all who made our conference possible, with special thanks to Bill and Kathy Brown, our gracios hosts, and, as always, thanks to Kris Miller, who makes it all happen year after year. And thank you for your prayers and financial support. You make it possible for us to fulfill the Great Commission:
