God continues to open doors for ministry in Romania through the faithful work of Elim Baptist Church in Generala and the Casarabi Camp Ministry.
Over the past several years, the congregation at Elim Baptist Church has worked diligently to complete its church building. In 2024, the church celebrated the dedication of the new facility—a significant milestone for the congregation of about 100 members.
What makes the project especially meaningful is that much of the work was completed by the church members themselves. Men and women contributed their skills, time, and resources, while others prepared meals and supported the workers throughout the construction process. The building was completed through many small gifts and countless hours of volunteer labor.
“We do not have any rich people among us,” Pastor Alex shared. “It was small gift by small gift. Praise God for that.”
Reaching Rural Communities Through Camp Ministry
Another important outreach is the Casarabi Camp Ministry, which serves churches and families from rural areas of Romania. The ministry provides opportunities for children, teenagers, and adults to attend camps that might otherwise be financially out of reach.
The camp ministry was established with the goal of creating a place where people can gather for worship, biblical teaching, fellowship, and spiritual growth. Over the last several years, significant improvements have been made to the camp facilities.
One major project included the construction of a chapel capable of hosting approximately 150 campers. The chapel is now used for worship services, teaching sessions, church retreats, and special gatherings. Additional bedrooms and accommodations have also been added, making the facility more functional for year-round ministry.
Much of the recent construction work has now been completed, allowing more groups to enjoy the camp and benefit from its ministry.
Serving Beyond Romania
In 2025, God provided an opportunity for Pastor Alex to minister in Zimbabwe. Through connections with a missionary serving in children’s ministry, he was invited to teach classes on preaching.
While there, he noticed several practical needs and put to use many of the construction skills he had learned through years of ministry projects in Romania. He purchased tools, helped repair roofing, built beds, and assisted with other improvement projects.
“What God entrusted to me through the years, I was able to give away and use to help others,” he shared.
The experience inspired further involvement from Elim Baptist Church. Although the congregation is small, the church later sent two men to Zimbabwe to help the missionary construct additional facilities, including a bedroom and shower area to support the growing ministry.
