Matthew 15:11
"Not what goes into the mouth defiles a man; but what comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man.”
Back in Jesus time the Pharisees had very strict rules about eating with clean hands and clean pots and pans.The Pharisees insisted that it was by eating with dirty hands that people defiled themselves. Lord Jesus confronted the Pharisees and told them it is not what goes INTO the mouth that defiles a person, it is what comes OUT of the mouth that defiles a man. Jesus was telling us that the heart of man was black with sin and caused man to speak evil, harsh, and destructive things about others. It is not what we eat that defiles us. What goes into the stomach passes through us. The mouth of us humans can be a very evil thing. We can clean our hands but we cannot clean our hearts. We must allow the cleansing of our hearts by the blood of Jesus. Head right for the foot of the cross and receive Jesus forgiveness for your sins and ask Him to heal your heart and make it pure!!
Lord God I thank You for washing my heart with the blood of Lord Jesus. You forgive me of all my sins, all the harsh evil words I have spoken, and created a new heart in me. I ask You Lord Jesus to heal the hearts of the people and make them pure. In Jesus name, Amen!!
