Luke 9:30-31

And behold, two men talked with Him, who were Moses and Elijah, who appeared in glory and spoke of His decease which He was about to accomplish at Jerusalem.

Jesus takes Peter, James, and John up to a mountain top. There, all of a sudden, Moses and Elijah appear standing and talking to Jesus. They are talking about the great thing Jesus is about to accomplish with His death (and resurrection). We often hear the Old Testament referred to as "The Law and the Prophets." Moses represents the Law (since God's Law came through Moses) and Elijah represents the Prophets (him being one of the greatest). The Law and the Prophets were speaking directly to the Son of God who was about to usher out the Old Testament Covenant and usher in the New Testament Covenant where by our sins will be washed away by the blood of the Christ (forever) and not the sacrificing of an animal (needed yearly) which did not get rid of the people's sins. Matthew, Mark, and Luke report of this incident. But only Luke reports the conversation between the three of them. What a blessing that the Lord confirmed what He was doing, that His death and resurrection would bring about our salvation. We can live in Heaven forever because of Jesus and only Jesus.

We pray, Lord, that people will realize their salvation is a free gift from God through Jesus death and resurrection and cannot be obtained any other way.

Prayer Requests!!!

Pray that some of the FFA Shows will let us in to share the gospel with the students.

Please pray for Dave Ferris’ grandson, Noah Vogel, in his 20’s, who had a burst appendix. While in the hospital the doctors discovered that Noah has a 5 cm cyst in his abdomen. They will need to drain it carefully because if any of the fluid escapes into the abdominal cavity Noah could get sepsis. Please pray for the medical team to have wisdom and guidance from the Lord and for Noah to heal well and to avoid sepsis.
