Genesis 9:3
Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. I have given you all things, even as the green herbs.
How many of us have watched the old Disney movies where they make various animals so cuddly and sweet and fun? Maybe because of this or because many people do not want to be someone that takes a life, but some people refuse to eat foods produced from the flesh of an animal. And then they try to condemn you or make you feel bad for enjoying that hamburger or steak. That is the reason so many companies today are introducing plant based foods that are supposed to give you the taste of meat. But in reality, the Lord tells us right from the Bible that these animals the Lord has given to be food for us. Our bodies need the special proteins provided by them and it is okay to enjoy that ham or steak. We are made in the Lord's image and likeness and are a special creation by Him. He did not intend us to eat the same food every day as animals do. The Lord has placed a vast array of foods on this earth for His children to enjoy. God even describes our wonderful eternal life in heaven as being at a great feast. Go ahead and enjoy what the Lord has given you to eat!!
I thank You Lord for the wonderful foods You provide for Your people. Each day can be different from the day before and there are so many different flavors. You provide so much for us all and this includes wonderful dining experiences. Nothing is better than sitting down with family and friends and enjoying a wonderful meal! In Jesus name, Amen!!
