Many other farmers have fences destroyed by storm surge and huge Pine trees that need to be cut up. 400,000 head of cattle had to be moved from south of I-!0 to pasture land north of I-10. There will be situations where hay is needed. 15-20 miles north of the Gulf of Mexico to the inner coastal waterway was covered with a salt-fresh water mixture for three weeks. The impact of this salt water on pasture & rice land needs to be assessed. Please pray for the southwest Louisiana farm families as they enter the New Year with big challenges.
