Randy & Audrey Braddock, Syracuse, Kansas,left teamed up with Butch Neumeyer, Mike Brehm, Racine, Wisconsin,and Patsy Neumeyer to build miles of fence on two Vermillion Parish farms. The Neumeyers are from Walker, Iowa. They stopped to help inspect the condition of bayou cattle with Parish Extension Livestock Specialist, Andrew Grainger. Grainger is coordinating a haylift from cattlemen in Nebraska, Illinois and Ohio. The Fellowship of Christian Farmers and the Montgomery County Ohio Cattlemen Association are combining donated big bales of hay with donated diesel fuel to send truckloads of hay to Louisiana cattlemen. Existing inventories of hay was destroyed by the three feet of saltwater that stood in fields for three weeks, 15 miles north of the Gulf of Mexico.
