FCFC President’s Report, September 2007

“Where there is no vision the people perish.” Proverbs 29:18

Do you have a vision? What do you see FCFC doing in the next five years? God has used the ministry to reach out to people in many places across Canada in the past year.

At the first annual meeting of FCFC at George and Eleanor Gardiner’s home in 2003, I thought an easy goal would be to grow to 10 chapters in the next year. As it turned out, it took 4 times as long. God does not always move at the speed we think He should. It is all “in His time”.

That was the meeting where Edith and I got the go-ahead to go to Regina and you know the rest of the story. Eldon just had 45 people turn out for a weekend workshop and retreat in Saskatchewan. Chapter growth has come about, to a large extent, due to his efforts.

Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec have been doing an excellent job of expanding their territory. A large fair (Ottawa) was taken on, and we rejoice in the success. Size is not everything – one-day street festivals have also had their rewards.

The Owen Sound area has maintained an active outreach since the 2004 Plowing Match.

The Maritimes and Eastern Quebec are showing potential for growth. As I write this, I received a call from Ron Hunter. He was very much enthused. Two days at the Gagetown Festival and they had already talked to 650 people – and 2 days to go!

The 2400 people who heard the gospel at the 3 fairs in eastern Quebec in August indicates that there is potential there. As we go forward we need to keep in mind ways of serving efficiently in the French language.

As the year and my term end, I would like to thank the board for their support over the last 2 years. My thanks go to Kim for keeping the bills paid, insurance certificates issued, recovery of the GST, etc.

Thanks to Eldon and Doreen for doing a great job, and to Bill and Kathy Brown for the guidance and support you have been over the past seven years.

I would be remiss if I did not thank FCFI for all the support, encouragement, and field staff they have provided.

To George and Eleanor we pass the reins. George has a vision. I trust the board will help in the fine-tuning and execution. To a regal couple, my prayers for an interesting and spiritually fulfilling time as you take FCFC to the next level.

God bless you all,
 Wayne
