“The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble, and he knoweth them that trust in him.” Nahum 1:7
The Fellowship of Christian Farmers – Canada has just experienced another year of growth. Some of us are impatient at times and wonder why this growth cannot happen at a faster pace! But God is in charge and He has ordered everything in His time. In spite of the troublesome economic times we have been able to grow, pay our bills, and have increased our inventory of show supplies. 2010 took us across the Rockies for the first time, gave birth to new chapters, increased our outreach by sixteen events, and saw the number of people who heard the gospel in Quebec, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia double or triple. The hand of God was clearly visible as good relationships were developed with event organizers and neighbouring exhibitors. There were sad times too in 2010. Our prayer coordinator, Elaine Blatz, left us to be with the Lord, and members of the leadership lost parents or close relatives. New members were added to the board as we welcomed Laird Murray, Colleen Grant, and Roy Neilsen. Gladdie-May Dueck of Edmonton has joined the team as prayer coordinator. Their love of the Lord and concern for the lost is an encouragement to us all. They bring with them a wealth of experience. After two years of examining our records and bylaws, the Canadian Council of Christian Charities has recognized us as a certified member. This means that the Fellowship of Christian Farmers – Canada meets their high standards of integrity and accountability in organizational structure and financial management. We are truly thankful for all the people who give of their time, talents, and money to make this organization work. Together we can meet the greatest need of mankind – the Gospel of Jesus Christ. There are more than 7,000 kilometres on that Trans-Canada Highway; there are a couple of thousand events out there which would have a place for an FCF booth. Pray the Lord of the harvest that he would send workers!
