      PRAYER GUIDE - November 2011

    1. Folks in Eastern New York, Vermont, and Pennsylvania have been severely damaged by heavy rains and flooding that occurred in late August and early September. Many dairy farmers lost a major portion of their feed crops and will be greatly challenged to make it through the winter feeding period while flooded vegetable farmers cannot sell their produce because of contamination. Father in Heaven, first we thank you for no loss of human life and than many volunteers are “putting their shoulders to the wheel” to help things get going again. Multiply feed stores as you did when you feed the 5000 and draw many doubters into your kingdom through these tragedies.

    2. We have several prayer requests this month to share with you. W.W. asks for prayer in the southwest. J.W. asks for prayer for unspecified health concerns. C.S. asks prayer for his wife’s health issues. R.P. asks prayer for unsaved loved ones (we can all relate to this petition). P.F. has many requests for prayer including him and his wife, the U.S.A., a safe harvest, our leaders, and his son and family. King of Kings, hear and respond to each one of these requests and glory in the praises that each answer brings.

    3. Two farm shows begin tomorrow and FCF Canada will be there to share the Good News with farmers and non-farmers alike. Missions Globale goes from 11-4 to 11-6 in Montreal, Quebec, Ca. and the big Royal Canadian Winter Fair runs for 10 days in Toronto, Ontario, Ca. Shepherd of Our Souls, these two events provide countless opportunities for unchurched people to hear your message of grace and forgiveness. Guide our FCFC volunteers to meet the needs of their visitors and draw many to the saving grace only you can supply.

    4. “I will heal the backsliding”, Hosea 14:4. Have you or someone near to you fallen away because of poor and sinful choices? Take heart. Though we hurt God by our sinful choices, He offers healing and forgiveness and fruitfulness if we return to Him (see Hosea 14 ). Thank you, Teacher, for your faithfulness even when we are not fruitful.

    5. Don’t forget to see your clocks back one hour tomorrow. Remember to spring ahead and fall back. Author of Our Faith regardless of the time, we know that you are on the throne and have everything under control. Starting tomorrow, a team of volunteers will assemble to do repair and maintenance work at Reality Ranch in Fort Myers,Florida. Bless their efforts, Holy One, and complete all the tasks set before them.

    6. “The man and his wife were both naked and they felt no shame”, Genesis 2:25. While it is obvious that their “clothlessness” bothered them not at all, I believe that it also means that there were no secrets between them; they were completely open with each other. Father God, help us take a page from Adam and Eve’s book and be completely open and honest with our mates. We need your help to accomplish this goal.

    7. Tomorrow is election day in the U.S. Citizens, it is our privilege to be able to vote freely. It is our obligation to research the candidates and know what they believe and stand for before we cast our votes. Chief Cornerstone, we pray that you will install Godly men and women in places of leadership.

    8. Tomorrow the four day Agri-Trade Show in Red Deer, Alberta, Ca. begins. Amongst all the Ag Trade exhibits will be an FCFC booth where people can trade-in their old sinful lifestyles for one where grace and forgiveness rules. Thank you, Lord, for all the volunteers who use their free time for a chance to witness to any one who comes to their exhibit.

    9. “He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world”, Ephesians 1:4. Can you imagine God knowing each of the six or seven billion people on this earth? What kind of computer does He have to keep track of all of us and know our destiny before it even happens? That is way beyond what my mind can conceive. But, thank you, Ruler of Heaven and Earth, for your attention to me, for calling me from darkness into light, and for the manifold blessings that have come to me, my family, and others special to me.

    10. Veterans Day, originally called Armistice Day, commemorating WWI, was changed to honor veterans of all conflicts. Some wise person said only two people died for you, the soldier and Jesus Christ. We thank you, High Priest, for the men and women who gave their lives so that we (and others) could remain free. Thank you, even more, for taking our sins to the cross with you so that we could be free from them and attain eternal life.

    11. “Be hospitable to one another without grumbling”, I Peter 4:9. When I read this verse I thought “hospitable and grumbling” don’t go together. How can you be hospitable and grumble unless you are a TV writer trying to make a situation funny? I guess it’s human nature to find fault even with our guests. Savior, protect us from our own insecurities and insincerity and open our hearts to welcome everyone, even those very different from us, into our homes, our hearts, and our livers.

    12. “Thus far the Lord has helped us”, I Samuel 7:12. Has there been a time in your life when a certain person, situation, or place had a dramatic positive effect on your life? If so, you can relate to the Israelites in Samuel’s time when they turned from their foreign gods and the Lord delivered them from their Philistine enemies. Son of God, thank you for being there, always ready to reach out even when we are far from you. Forgive us our folly and restore us to your family and your protection.

    13. “Let the elders who rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in the Word and doctrines”, I Timothy 5:17. We are all looking for “high performance” pastors to lead our churches and most of us have them. Yet, our pastors are looking for “high performance” church members to help him or her lead. Savior, thank you for my pastor. He is not perfect and if he were, I couldn’t stand him. But, encourage him to keep his focus on you and your word and sustain him through “thick and thin”.

    14. Tomorrow, the three day Willamette Valley Ag Expo begins in Albany, Oregon. This popular farm show has something for everyone including the message of salvation at the FCFI tent there. Man of Sorrows, there are many who will attend that are “down in the mouth” because of situations in their lives. Lift them up from their lethargy as FCFI witnesses tell them how much you love and value them, even to dying on the cross for them.

    15. “Not one of those (sparrows) falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will”, Matthew 10:29. Can you imagine God keeping track of every sparrow and by implication every other kind of bird or animal and you and me too? Wow! Do you suppose those kinds of things will be our job when we get to heaven? Father in Heaven, we can’t imagine how you keep track of everything but it is comforting to know how much you care for each one of us. Thank you for caring.

    16. Would you pray with me today for my long time friend, Bob (a fellow dairyman)? His diagnosis is uncertain but he continues to lose weight and has balance problems. Faithful One, continue to minister to Bob and his wife as they battle an unknown enemy. Also, minister please, to two others Bobs who are advanced in years and are dealing with health issues and who don’t yet know you as Lord and Savior.

    17. Farmers throughout New YorkState (probably other areas as well) are battling against poor weather and soil conditions to harvest late planted crops. Inspire them, I AM, to continue to harvest but, also, to depend on you as their ultimate source of provision. Remind them how you filled a fishing net to overflowing after a night of fruitless toil for the fishermen. Thank you for being the way when there seems to be no apparent way.

    18. Churches, missionaries, para-church ministries are struggling to “make ends meet” and that includes FCFI and FCFC. Jehovah Jireh, Our Provider, the world’s economy comes and goes but your economy never fails. Guide our pastors and leaders to make quality decisions and “ open the flood gates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it”, Malachi 3:10b.

    19. Holy Cow! Where did that expression come from? Well, cows, cow, cattle, heifer are mentioned over 100 times in the Bible so they must be Holy. Not necessarily. However, “All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness so that all people can be thoroughly equipped for every good work”, II Timothy 3:16-17, Savior, guide us by your Holy Spirit to use your Word wisely and for good intent.

    20. Tomorrow the six day Western Agribition Farm Show begins in Regina, Saskatchewan, Ca. One of the exhibits will be sponsored by FCFC and they will tell folks about a God who knows all there is to know about agriculture and the people who are involved in it. Holy God, expand your Kingdom in Saskatchewan through FCFC’s efforts and give people coming to the exhibit the peace that only you can give.

    21. “Rejoice with me for I have found my sheep which is lost”, Luke 15:6. In this parable Jesus leaves the 99 to look for 1 sheep that is lost. Two things jump out at me - the shepherd (Jesus implied) was “on the ball” and noticed that 1 out of 100 sheep was lost; secondly, he rejoiced more about the 1 who was recovered than he was about the other 99 who were accounted for (see verse 15:7). Good Shepherd, may we rejoice with you each time a lost person repents and turns to you and may we be diligent in reaching out to these precious lost ones.

    22. “A woman … called out ‘Blessed is the mother who gave you birth and nursed you’. He (Jesus) replied ‘ Blessed rather are those who hear the Word of God and obey it’”, Luke 11:22,28. Here Jesus isn’t minimizing what his mother did for him but emphasizing the importance of hearing and responding to God’s Word. Jesus, we, too, need to be constantly reminded of the value of your Word and our obedience to it. Don’t “let us off the hook”.

    23. “The thief (Satan) comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I (Jesus) have come that they may have life and have it to the full”, John 10:10. Notice that Jesus used the word only. That is Satan’s personality. He is unable to do otherwise. Lord, open our eyes to see all the works of Satan and to correctly place the blame and encourage us to promote Jesus purpose “that they may have life and have it to the full”.

    24. “Do not be overcome by evil but overcome evil with good”, Romans 12:21. There seems to be so much evil all around us that we are “swamped”. But, not according to this verse. Whether we are rescuing people from a burning building or opening a door for someone with both hands full, we are chipping away at the evil that surround us. Master, op-portunities abound for us to “do good” and, according to your word, are overcoming evil. Lead us in the war to overcome evil.

    25. “I have written you briefly exhorting and testifying that this is the true grace of God in which you stand”, I Peter 5:12. Are you standing in the grace of God? According to Peter, if you have asked Jesus to be your Savior, you are. My Lord, oh how I want to stand in your grace. Thank you for your blessed assurance and keep me standing in your Grace.

    26. “Did I not tell you that if you believe you will see the glory of God?”, John 11:40. This is what Jesus said to Martha when she objected to rolling the stone from Lazarus’ grave. Jesus, I want to see the glory of God, even when your requests seem wrong or out of place. My faith like Martha’s is shallow but with your help I can and will believe.

    27. “I have heard of you by the hearing of the ear, but now my eyes see you”, Job 42:5. This is what Job said when after the intense pain, suffering, and loss, everything was restored to him. God of All Creation, I, too, have my doubts even after all the trials and blessings have come my way. Don’t give up on me. With your help, I will wade through my doubts and see you as you really are.

    28. Tomorrow, two big and important farm shows begin … the Peoria Show in Peoria, Illinois and the Amarillo Farm Show in Amarillo,Texas. Nothing can be more important than the colored bead message of forgiveness and salvation that FCF volunteers present to those interested. Use the words and actions of FCF workers, Jesus, to encourage many to take the step of faith to acknowledge you as their personal Lord and Savior.

    29. “God has chosen the foolish things of this world to put to shame the wise”, I Corinthians 1:27. Can I mention a couple of foolish things that have scientists scratching their heads in disbelief? Ugly caterpillars some how change into beautiful butterflies and tadpoles (fish) turn into frogs. How did evolution accomplish those amazing feats? Holy God, know that the Theory of Evolution is a “bunch of baloney” but minds greater than ours are still trying to make evolution “fit”. Relieve them of their confusion and draw them into your family.

    30. Oh, oh! Shorter days, snow, ice and cold are the forecast for much of the U.S. and Canada. Many of us don’t look forward to yet another winter. But, without the winter, there would be no spring when warmer weather and newness of life appears. It reminds me of you, Jesus, as you promise a new life of hope and purpose when we make you our life and goal. Thank you, Lord, for the seasons of the year and thank you, even more, for the confidence and assurance you offer us just by our placing our life and trust in you.
